Its adjustable, split design supports both mid-hanging and rear-hanging equipment positions, giving integrators a second mounting plane for deep gear, power, and accessories. The kit ships complete with all necessary brackets, rails, and hardware, and remains compatible with all Slim 5 side panels.
Product Description
A single pair of front rails is rarely enough in a working AV rack — power distribution, lacing bars, and deep equipment all benefit from rear support. The Middle Atlantic 5AR21 answers that need on the 21 RU Slim 5 platform, adding 17 RU of usable rear mounting space inside the 5-21 frame. The rail set uses an adjustable, split design, so each section can be positioned independently for mid-hanging or rear-hanging support depending on equipment depth. That flexibility lets a single kit handle mixed loads: shallow gear supported mid-frame, full-depth components anchored at the rear, and rear-facing accessories mounted where they are easiest to service. The 5AR21 works with all Slim 5 side panels, so adding the rear rails does not limit how the rack is finished. When 5-21 frames are ganged side by side, a cable chase kit is required to maintain the proper bay spacing with the split rear rail installed. Everything needed for installation — brackets, rails, and mounting hardware — is included in the box. For other Slim 5 frame heights, Middle Atlantic offers the matching 5AR29, 5AR37, and 5AR43 kits.
