The M32R LIVE's 16 MIDAS PRO microphone preamplifiers carry the same design lineage as the preamps found in the Midas Heritage 3000 and XL4 analog consoles. Each preamp handles the full gain structure requirements of professional microphone sources, from low-output ribbons to high-output instrument direct inputs, with remote-controllable gain, phantom power, and polarity inversion accessible from the console surface or via software control.

Despite its compact surface, the M32R LIVE processes 40 input channels simultaneously with a full channel strip on every channel: gate, compressor, 4-band fully parametric EQ with shelving, and flexible routing to any of the 25 mix buses. The 25-bus structure — 16 mix buses, 6 matrix buses, main LR, and mono/center — is identical to that of the M32 LIVE, meaning engineers who work across both consoles find the same routing logic and recall structure on either platform. Eight DCA groups provide additional layer control for complex channel groupings.

Dual AES50 ports support connection of remote stage boxes including the Midas DL32 and DL16, carrying up to 96 inputs and 96 outputs over shielded Cat5e or Cat6 cable at distances up to 100 meters.
