Product Overview

The Meyer Sound ASTRYA-140 is a fully integrated reference cinema screen channel loudspeaker built for premium commercial cinema auditoriums measuring up to 140 feet from screen to back wall. This self-powered cinema loudspeaker combines a 21-inch low-frequency driver, dual 12-inch mid drivers, and a compression high-frequency driver with onboard amplification, DSP, and a networked digital audio interface, delivering reference-level sound free from power compression or distortion. As a digitally networked screen channel loudspeaker, the ASTRYA-140 accepts AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110 audio directly, removing a digital-to-analog conversion stage for a low noise floor in large-format cinema installations.

Product Description

Meyer Sound ASTRYA-140 reference cinema screen channel loudspeaker

ASTRYA-140 uses a concentric driver configuration for the low-mid, mid, and high frequencies to reduce the vertical footprint and produce cohesive point-source behavior across a 100° by 60° coverage pattern. Its 30 Hz to 20 kHz operating range and 126 dB dynamic range support reference listening positions up to 95 feet from the screen, making it a premium cinema screen channel loudspeaker for flagship theaters, premium large-format auditoriums, screening rooms, and post-production stages. Power and audio arrive through Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 TOP and etherCON TOP connectors, and loudspeaker telemetry is transmitted over the Ethernet port for monitoring in software. For full-range and subsonic cinema low-frequency reproduction, the ASTRYA-140 integrates with Meyer Sound cinema subwoofers such as the X-1100C High-Power Cinema Subwoofer. Additional Meyer Sound cinema and screen-channel solutions are available in the Meyer Sound collection at Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • Fully integrated screen channel — Power amplifier, signal processing, DSP, and network interface are built into the cabinet for simplified cinema integration.
  • Networked digital audio — Accepts AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110 audio over etherCON, removing a D-to-A stage and lowering the noise floor.
  • Concentric driver array — Low-mid, mid, and high drivers share a concentric layout for cohesive point-source behavior and reduced vertical footprint.
  • Reference output for large rooms — Supports reference listening positions to 95 ft and rooms up to 140 ft deep without power compression.
  • 100° × 60° coverage — Wide, controlled horizontal and vertical pattern engineered for premium auditorium geometry.
  • Loudspeaker telemetry — Operating parameters are transmitted over Ethernet for monitoring and proactive maintenance.
  • Integrated rigging and floor mounting — MH-to-LF hardware allows ±30° pan and ±20° tilt, with floor-mounting brackets included.

Typical Applications

  • Auditorium — Reference screen channel for premium large-format cinema and event auditoriums up to 140 ft deep.
  • Broadcast studio — Suited to post-production and dubbing stages requiring reference-level monitoring.
  • Multi-purpose room — Appropriate for high-end screening rooms and presentation theaters with cinema-grade playback.

Frequently Asked Questions

What audio formats does the ASTRYA-140 accept?
The screen channel accepts networked digital audio over a Neutrik etherCON TOP connector and is AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110 compliant, allowing it to integrate directly into IP-based cinema audio infrastructures without a separate digital-to-analog stage.

How large a room can a single ASTRYA-140 cover?
It is rated for rooms up to 140 ft (42.6 m) deep with a maximum reference listening position of 95 ft (29 m), with a 100° by 60° coverage pattern suited to premium large-format auditoriums.

Does it require an external amplifier or processor?
No. Amplification, DSP, and the network interface are built into the cabinet. Power is supplied via powerCON TRUE1 TOP at 200–240 V AC, with a recommended 15 A circuit per unit.

How is low-frequency extension handled below 30 Hz?
For full cinema low-frequency reproduction, pair the ASTRYA-140 with Meyer Sound cinema subwoofers such as the X-1100C; the VLFC can be added for subsonic SMPTE-compliant extension.

What warranty and support are available?
The ASTRYA-140 is covered under Meyer Sound's standard product warranty. Contact Creation Networks for warranty terms, system design, and commercial cinema integration support.
