Product Overview

The Martin Audio CDD10B is a compact passive two-way on-wall loudspeaker in a black (RAL9005) finish, built around a 10" (250mm) LF / 1" (25mm) exit HF Coaxial Differential Dispersion driver. Designed for foreground sound reinforcement in commercial and architectural installations, it delivers consistent coverage in medium-depth rooms including bars, restaurants, convention centres, and houses of worship. The CDD10B supports both vertical and horizontal mounting and pairs with Martin Audio SX118 or CX218 subwoofers for extended bass response in music-program applications. See the complete Martin Audio range at Creation Networks.

Product Description

The Martin Audio CDD10B shares the same acoustic platform as the CDD10W but ships in a black textured finish, making it the preferred choice for installations where dark ceiling or wall surfaces demand a discreet loudspeaker profile. The coaxial driver architecture places the 1" exit HF compression driver concentrically within the 10" LF cone, achieving point-source summation through the crossover region and eliminating the off-axis tonal shifts typical of conventional two-way designs. A passive 2kHz crossover is integrated within the 28-litre UPM Formi composite enclosure, and the speaker handles 250W AES (1000W peak) with a sensitivity of 96dB and a maximum continuous SPL of 120dB. Dispersion is 110°–75° horizontal and 60° vertical, user-adjustable in the field simply by removing the screw-free perforated steel grille and rotating the coaxial drive unit. Input and daisy-chain link connections use low-profile 20A push-lock terminals. The enclosure is fitted with six M8 inserts for wall bracket attachment and ten M8 fly points for ceiling or grid suspension, giving installers full flexibility in positioning. When driven via a Martin Audio DX4.0 controller or iKON amplifier, factory DSP and FIR presets provide optimized frequency response and integrated limiter protection. The CDD10B is compatible with Martin Audio system-design software for prediction modeling in complex room geometries. Available from Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • Coaxial Differential Dispersion Technology — Point-source driver summation eliminates crossover-region off-axis coloration, delivering consistent tonal balance throughout the coverage area.
  • User-Rotatable Coaxial Drive Unit — Installer can switch dispersion orientation between horizontal and vertical without tools by removing the screw-free grille.
  • 250W AES / 1000W Peak Power Handling — Supports demanding foreground music program levels without compression under sustained commercial use.
  • 96dB Sensitivity, 120dB Continuous SPL — High efficiency reduces required amplifier power while maintaining headroom in high-ambient-noise environments.
  • 110°–75° Horizontal Dispersion — Wide coverage pattern suitable for broad audience areas; vertical 60° pattern available by rotating the driver.
  • Six Rear M8 Wall Bracket Inserts + Ten M8 Fly Points — Flexible mounting hardware accommodation for surface or grid/ceiling suspension installations.
  • Low-Profile 20A Push-Lock Connectors — Input and link output terminals allow daisy-chain wiring in multi-speaker distributed systems.
  • UPM Formi Composite Enclosure — Rigid, resonance-resistant construction keeps weight to 15.3kg while maintaining structural integrity in permanent installations.
  • DX4.0 and iKON Amplifier Compatibility — Factory DSP/FIR presets available for optimized performance and limiter integration.
  • Black (RAL9005) Textured Finish — Blends with dark ceilings, walls, and architectural surfaces; white variant available as CDD10W.

Typical Applications

  • House of worship
  • Multi-purpose room
  • All-hands room

Frequently Asked Questions

What amplifier is recommended for the CDD10B?
Martin Audio recommends using the CDD10B with a Martin Audio iKON amplifier and DX4.0 system controller, which provides factory-tuned DSP and FIR presets along with integrated limiter protection. A general-purpose power amplifier delivering 500–750W into 8Ω is sufficient for most applications without a dedicated controller.
Is the CDD10B suitable for outdoor installation?
The standard CDD10B is designed for indoor or sheltered architectural use only. Martin Audio offers the CDD10BTX-WR variant — IP54-rated and equipped with a 70V/100V transformer — for outdoor or semi-exposed environments.
How does point-source summation improve intelligibility?
Because both the LF and HF drivers share the same acoustic axis, phase relationships through the crossover region remain consistent across the coverage area. This reduces comb-filtering artifacts off-axis, which is particularly important for speech intelligibility in reverberant spaces such as houses of worship and convention halls.
Can the CDD10B be daisy-chained with other speakers?
Yes. The push-lock connector panel provides both input and link output terminals, allowing multiple CDD10B units to be wired in series or parallel within a distributed system. Consult the Martin Audio system design guide for impedance configuration limits per amplifier channel.
What is the difference between the CDD10B and CDD10W?
The CDD10B and CDD10W are acoustically identical. The only difference is finish: CDD10B ships in black (RAL9005) and CDD10W ships in white (RAL9016). Both are available at Creation Networks.
What subwoofer pairs with the CDD10B?
Martin Audio recommends the SX118 or CX218 subwoofer to extend low-frequency output when the CDD10B is used as a full foreground music system.
What warranty applies to the CDD10B?
Martin Audio products are covered by the manufacturer standard warranty. For warranty registration and support, contact Creation Networks via creationnetworks.net.
