Product Overview

The Listen Technologies AURI-TX2N-DB-A0 is the black-finish version of the two-channel Auri transmitter, broadcasting assistive listening audio over Auracast, the Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast profile. It is functionally identical to the white unit; the finish exists so the transmitter disappears against a dark ceiling or a black-painted technical grid rather than announcing itself in a finished room. Dante is fitted on this part number, so the transmitter takes its feed from the audio network alongside the room DSP. A single ethernet run carries PoE, network control and Audio over IP.

Product Description

Auracast removes the dedicated distribution layer that RF and infrared assistive listening require. The venue broadcasts, and compliant receivers join without pairing — which also means there is no ceiling on how many devices receive the stream.

Listen Technologies AURI-TX2N-DB-A0 Auri two-channel Auracast transmitter black

The transmitter has to sit in the room it serves, because it is broadcasting over Bluetooth rather than feeding a remote antenna or radiator. That is the whole reason a finish option exists. In a theatre, a black box or a venue with an exposed and blacked-out grid, a white access-point-shaped enclosure is visible from every seat; the black unit is not.

Beyond the finish, this is the same hardware as the white TX2N. Dual Bluetooth 5.3 radios provide individual stream control across the two channels, supporting 16 kHz, 24 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates. Two channels covers the common obligations: a primary language plus interpretation, or a programme feed plus audio description.

Power is IEEE 802.3af PoE or USB-C, and consumption is low enough — 2.54 W over PoE, 1.85 W over USB-C — that adding a transmitter to an existing room is a network drop rather than a containment exercise. The removable bracket fits standard electrical boxes and VESA 75 × 75.

Auri transmitters ship without a power supply. Order the 1-port USB-C charger where PoE is not available at the mounting position. Receivers are ordered separately: the Auri RX1 receiver charges in the 4-unit or 16-unit docking station. Where a complete room is being specified, the black System 4 and black System 8 kits package this transmitter with receivers, a dock and wearables.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the black unit different from the white one in any way other than finish?
No. It is the same transmitter with the same radios, inputs, power options and mounting. The finish is specified so the unit is not visually obtrusive in a dark room.

Does the transmitter ship with a power supply?
No. Auri transmitters take PoE or USB-C and do not include a supply. Order the LA-425-09 USB-C charger separately where PoE is not available at the mounting position.

Is Dante fitted on this part number?
Yes. This is the Dante/Black variant, with a dedicated RJ45 carrying two channels at 48 kHz.

Where should the transmitter be mounted?
In the space it serves, since it broadcasts over Bluetooth rather than feeding a remote antenna. The bracket supports ceiling and wall positions and fits standard electrical boxes or a VESA 75 × 75 pattern.

Do patrons need a venue-issued receiver?
Auracast-compatible phones and hearing aids can receive the broadcast directly. A venue with an accessibility obligation generally still has to provide receivers for patrons who do not carry one, which is what the Auri RX1 covers.

Can the two channels run different sample rates?
The transmitter supports 16 kHz, 24 kHz and 48 kHz with individual stream control across the dual radios. Confirm the configuration for a specific deployment with your Listen representative.

How many transmitters does a venue need?
Coverage depends on room geometry and construction, as with any RF broadcast. Confirm the design with your Listen representative before fixing quantities on a large or subdivided space.
