Lightware UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 – USB-C HDMI Matrix Transmitter for SDVoE AV over IP
Product Overview
The Lightware UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 is a USB Type-C and HDMI 2.0 matrix transmitter switcher that integrates the Taurus UCX BYOD collaboration feature set with SDVoE-based AV over IP distribution over 10G Ethernet. The device accepts 4 inputs (2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB-C) and routes selected video, audio, USB, and control signals to one local HDMI 2.0 output and simultaneously to multiple TPN receivers across a 10G network, enabling a single source room to distribute to unlimited display endpoints without additional matrix hardware. Integrators specifying a Lightware UCX SDVoE transmitter for enterprise BYOD meeting rooms with AV over IP distribution will find the UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 the most technically complete solution in its class. Product Description
The UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 combines the full Taurus UCX USB-C matrix switcher functionality with an integrated SDVoE transmitter, operating within Lightware's TPN AV over IP ecosystem. When managed by the TPN Matrix Management Unit (MMU), the UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 functions as one input endpoint in a virtual matrix that can include HDMI-TPN, Taurus TPN, and other compatible SDVoE devices across a common 10G Ethernet network.
The two USB-C inputs each support 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 via DP 1.2a Alt Mode with 100W power delivery. Two HDMI 2.0 inputs handle stationary room sources. Video delay is 0 frames on all paths, with pixel-accurate reclocking ensuring signal integrity. HDCP 1.4 and 2.2 are supported on all inputs and outputs.
A separate USB 2.0 switching layer routes cameras, speakerphones, and other peripherals independently from video. Four USB-A device ports and USB-C/USB-B host ports allow multiple hosts to connect and share room peripherals. Analog audio de-embedding is available via 5-pole Phoenix output. Control is available via 10G Ethernet (TCP/IP), RS-232, GPIO, and OCS. Remote Syslog supports SIEM integration. Supports 5K (5120x2160) at 30Hz 4:4:4 or 60Hz 4:2:0 over HDMI 2.0 for ultrawide display deployments. A FIPS 140-2 certified variant (SKU 91360035) is available. Frequently Asked Questions
- How many display endpoints can the UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 drive simultaneously?
- Via the SDVoE/TPN network, the UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 can feed an unlimited number of TPN-compatible receivers connected to the same 10G Ethernet switch, enabling one-to-many distribution without a dedicated matrix frame.
- Does the device require a dedicated TPN management unit?
- For large-scale virtual matrix operation, the TPN-MMU-X100-20 management unit is recommended to centralize routing control across all TPN endpoints. For simple point-to-point or smaller deployments, the device's integrated SDVoE control server can handle basic configuration.
- Can this device be used in the same system as HDMI-TPN receivers?
- Yes. The UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 is compatible with HDMI-TPN-RX107, HDMI-TPN-RX107AU2K, HDMI-TPN-RX107A-SR, and other TPN receiver variants, as well as SDVoE-compliant third-party endpoints, within the same 10G network.
- What is the difference between the UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 and UCX-4x3-HCM40?
- The UCX-4x3-HCM40 is a local dual-screen matrix switcher with 3 HDMI outputs for direct display connection. The UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20 replaces two of those outputs with a 10G Ethernet SDVoE output, enabling AV over IP distribution to many remote receivers rather than local direct-connected displays.
- Is 5K ultrawide display support native?
- Yes. The device natively supports 5120x2160 at 30Hz 4:4:4 or 60Hz 4:2:0 over HDMI 2.0 inputs, suitable for ultrawide display layouts such as Microsoft Teams Front Row configurations.
- Where can I purchase the Lightware UCX-4x3-TPN-TX20?
