The PSU-24VP3-160 covers UCX and Taurus installations where the total system power draw does not approach the 9.16A ceiling of the PSU-24VP3-220. For smaller room deployments — a two- or four-port UCX receiver, a lightly loaded Taurus frame — this unit provides the correct spare without over-specifying the power supply. Matching spare PSU capacity to actual system load is good engineering practice: it avoids running a frame on an under-rated spare during an outage and minimizes unnecessary cost in procurement.
