Product Overview
The Lightware MX2-16x16-HDMI20 is the entry-level configuration in the 16x16 standalone HDMI 2.0 matrix switcher family, providing full 4K UHD 60Hz 4:4:4 signal routing across all 32 ports with zero frame latency and no analog audio ports or redundant power hardware. It is the appropriate selection for fixed installations in boardrooms, conference rooms, and training facilities where a 16x16 HDMI signal count is sufficient and audio breakout is managed by a separate DSP or amplifier. The MX2-16x16-HDMI20 operates at 18 Gbps per port with Pixel Accurate Reclocking and Advanced EDID Management as standard, controlled via Ethernet, RS-232, or USB. AV designers specifying a 16x16 4K HDMI 2.0 standalone matrix for a permanent installation without rental-class hardware requirements will find this unit sized and priced for that scope.
Product Description
The MX2-16x16-HDMI20 routes any of its 16 HDMI 2.0 inputs to any of its 16 HDMI 2.0 outputs simultaneously using a non-blocking crosspoint at 18 Gbps per port. HDMI 2.0, 1.4, and DVI 1.0 sources are accepted. The unit transmits 4K at 60Hz in 4:4:4 format with Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and 3D audio pass-through. HDMI 5K (5120x2160 at 30Hz 4:4:4 or 60Hz 4:2:0), HDR, and Dolby Vision are supported. Control is via Ethernet (RJ45 with built-in web interface), RS-232 (3-pole Phoenix), and USB. Power is standard IEC at 110/220V with optional redundant power supply. At 3RU with removable rack ears, it installs in standard equipment racks.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I add power redundancy to this unit?
- Yes. The MX2-16x16-HDMI20 supports an optional second power supply. If dual redundant power with rugged Neutrik connectors is required from the factory, specify the MX2-16x16-HDMI20-R.
- Does this unit include analog audio outputs?
- No. Audio is carried only within the HDMI stream (embedded). For analog audio embedding and de-embedding, specify the MX2-16x16-HDMI20-Audio.
- What DVI sources will work with this matrix?
- Any single-link DVI-D source works via a DVI-to-HDMI adapter. The HDMI 1.4 and DVI 1.0 compatibility is handled at the HDMI port level.
- How is EDID managed across 16 inputs?
- Advanced EDID Management allows each input to be assigned an independent EDID profile from a library of 100+ factory presets and user-defined profiles. This prevents resolution negotiation failures when displays change or are disconnected.
