The MX-HDMI-OPT-OB-R-LC installs directly into any MX series frame slot (MX-FR9, MX-FR9R, MX-FR17, MX-FR17R, MX-FR33R, MX-FR33L, MX-FR65R, MX-FR80R) and provides 8 output channels, each transmitted over a single multimode fiber with LC connectors. Signal, HDCP/EDID handshaking, and RS-232 serial control are multiplexed over one fiber per channel using Lightware's Single Fiber Technology — eliminating the need for separate control cables to remote displays or projectors.

Resolutions up to 4K (3840x2160@30Hz, 4096x2048@30Hz) and 36-bit deep color are supported, along with 3D signal formats including frame packing, side-by-side, and top-bottom. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are compatible with the board. The board draws 9.2W typical / 12.5W maximum from the frame backplane and weighs 1350g.
