Product Overview

The Lightware MMX6x2-HT210 is a compact standalone matrix switcher providing six inputs (four HDMI 1.4, two HDBaseT TPS) and two independent HDMI outputs with one mirrored HDBaseT TPS output, in a 1U form factor designed for meeting rooms and classroom AV installations. It delivers a 6x2 crosspoint with PoE 48V remote powering, four analog audio inputs, two balanced audio outputs, and a built-in Event Manager — making it a self-contained AV control solution that eliminates the need for an external control processor in straightforward room deployments.

Product Description

The MMX6x2-HT210 is the mid-tier model of the MMX6x2-HT family, sitting between the HT200 (no TPS output) and HT220 (two TPS outputs). It provides one TPS output in addition to two HDMI outputs, allowing distribution to one remote display over HDBaseT while two local HDMI displays receive the matrix output. Four HDMI 1.4 and two HDBaseT TPS inputs are switchable to any output combination. PoE 48V remote powering is available on all TPS ports, eliminating local power requirements at transmitter locations and reducing cabling infrastructure. The device receives TPS signals from up to 120 meters in standard HDBaseT mode and up to 170 meters in Long Reach mode (Full HD only). Four 5-pole Phoenix analog audio inputs and two balanced audio outputs with adjustable gain and volume support audio insertion and de-embedding for active speaker systems. The built-in Event Manager automates switching, IR commands, RS-232 commands, and volume adjustments in response to signal presence, resolution changes, or input status events — enabling room automation without external control hardware. Configuration cloning via Lightware Device Controller replicates full settings across multiple units in multi-room deployments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the MMX6x2-HT210 and the HT220?
The HT210 has one TPS (HDBaseT) output; the HT220 has two TPS outputs. The HT200 has no TPS output. All three have the same HDMI input and output counts and identical audio and control features.
Can the single TPS output serve both inputs and outputs on TPS ports?
The TPS output sends the matrix-routed signal to one HDBaseT display or extender. It functions independently of the two TPS inputs. Both inputs and the output can carry PoE simultaneously.
Is the Event Manager able to replace a Crestron or AMX control system?
For simple meeting rooms, yes. The Event Manager handles automated switching, RS-232 commands, IR commands, and volume adjustments triggered by signal events without external control hardware. Complex multi-room or API-dependent integrations still require a dedicated control system.
What is the maximum 4K distance over TPS?
4K UHD is supported up to 100m over CAT7 AWG23 in standard HDBaseT mode. Long Reach mode extends distance to 170m but is limited to Full HD resolution.
Can I use this matrix without a control system?
Yes. The front panel LCD and buttons allow local matrix control. The built-in Event Manager automates common room functions without any external control connection.
Does configuration cloning work across different HT2xx models?
Configuration cloning works across units of the same model (MMX6x2-HT210 to MMX6x2-HT210). Cross-model cloning compatibility should be verified with Lightware technical support.
Where can I purchase the MMX6x2-HT210?
Available from Creation Networks, an authorized Lightware commercial AV reseller.
