Product Overview
The Lightware HDMI20-OPTC-TX220-NTQ is the transmitter unit of the HDMI20-OPTC-TX/RX220-NTQ extender pair, transmitting uncompressed HDMI 2.0 4K UHD@60Hz 4:4:4 video at 18 Gbps over a single multimode optical fiber terminated with a Neutrik OpticalCON Quad connector. It is specified for venues and facilities with pre-installed quad-fiber infrastructure — such as large auditoriums, multi-room broadcast facilities, or campus AV networks — where the OpticalCON Quad connector simplifies fiber patch connections in high-density environments. It accepts two HDMI 2.0 inputs and provides a local monitoring output.
Product Description
The HDMI20-OPTC-TX220-NTQ transmits two HDMI 2.0 source signals at up to 18 Gbps each to the companion RX220-NTQ receiver, selecting one for primary transmission over fiber. The local HDMI 2.0 output enables source monitoring at the transmitter location without interrupting the fiber link. The Neutrik OpticalCON Quad connector provides a multi-channel fiber interface in a single ruggedized housing, enabling easy connection to patch panels and distribution systems built on quad-fiber conduit. The device uses Single Fiber Technology to carry video, two Gigabit Ethernet paths, and bi-directional RS-232 over a single optical fiber, with zero frame latency throughout the signal path. The front panel LCD menu and jog dial allow on-site EDID setup, input selection, and status monitoring. Pixel Accurate Reclocking removes source jitter before fiber transmission, and Advanced EDID Management locks the connected display's EDID to the source for consistent format compliance.
Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the TX220-NTQ and TX220-PCN transmitters?
- Signal performance is identical. The NTQ uses Neutrik OpticalCON Quad optical connector with IEC power; the PCN uses Neutrik OpticalCON DUO with PowerCON True1 power. Choose NTQ for quad-fiber patch panel environments; PCN for rental/staging power systems.
- Does the TX220-NTQ include the receiver?
- No. The companion receiver is the HDMI20-OPTC-RX220-NTQ, sold separately.
- Can both HDMI inputs be active simultaneously?
- Both inputs are connected simultaneously but only one is selected for fiber transmission at a time. The local HDMI output always shows the selected source.
- What fiber type provides maximum reach?
- OM3 or OM4 multimode fiber provides 700m at 4K60 4:4:4. OM2 provides 300m. OM1 does not support full 4K60 4:4:4 at any distance.
- How is EDID configured on the transmitter?
- EDID is configured using the front panel LCD menu and jog dial, or remotely via Ethernet or RS-232 control interface.
- Is there any processing delay in the signal path?
- No. The HDMI20-OPTC series maintains zero frame latency through all optical conversion stages.
