Product Overview
The Lightware HDMI-TPX-RX107AU2K-SR is an SDVoE-based HDMI 2.0 scaling receiver designed to receive video, audio, Ethernet, RS-232, and USB 2.0 signals from a compatible SDVoE transmitter over a direct CAT6A copper connection. Its integrated scaler makes it suitable for installations where the source resolution does not match the display's native resolution, allowing uninterrupted output regardless of input format changes. USB 2.0 reverse transmission supports cameras, microphones, touchscreens, and HID peripherals at the receiver end.
Product Description
The RX107AU2K-SR connects to the transmitter end (such as the Lightware HDMI-TPX-TX209AK or HDMI-TPX-TX209AU2K) via a direct CAT6A link, operating in a point-to-point SDVoE configuration rather than a switched network. This direct-cable approach provides deterministic, zero-configuration signal transport with the full bandwidth required for HDMI 2.0 at 4K UHD 60Hz, up to 18 Gbps.

The built-in scaler converts the incoming signal to the display's EDID-preferred resolution or a custom configured output resolution, enabling mixed-display environments where source and display resolutions differ. USB 2.0 is transmitted in the reverse direction through the same CAT6A cable, giving users at the display end access to the source computer without additional USB extenders. Power can be supplied via PoE (IEEE 802.3af) from the transmitter, eliminating the need for a local power supply in many installations.
Key Features
- Integrated scaler — converts incoming signal to EDID-preferred or custom resolution for display compatibility
- SDVoE point-to-point transport — direct CAT6A connection to compatible Lightware transmitter
- HDMI 2.0 output — 4K UHD 60Hz RGB 4:4:4 and YCbCr 4:4:4, up to 18 Gbps
- USB 2.0 bidirectional — supports cameras, microphones, touchscreens, pen drives, keyboard and mouse from the receiver end
- PoE powered (IEEE 802.3af) — remote power via CAT cable eliminates local PSU requirement
- HDR and Low Latency Dolby Vision — full HDR format support
- HDCP 2.3 compliant — passes content protection for 4K sources
- RS-232 and Ethernet pass-through — control and network access at the display location
Typical Applications
- Huddle rooms and small meeting spaces with mixed display types requiring resolution scaling
- Lecture podiums with touchscreen USB peripherals connected at the display end
- Corporate video conferencing systems with camera and microphone USB input at the far end
- Installations requiring PoE-powered remote receivers without local power infrastructure
- Digital signage with USB-connected interactive displays

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which transmitters are compatible with the RX107AU2K-SR?
- The receiver is designed for use with the Lightware HDMI-TPX-TX209AK and HDMI-TPX-TX209AU2K transmitters in a direct point-to-point CAT6A connection.
- What cable length is supported over CAT6A?
- Refer to the Lightware HDMI-TPX-RX107AU2K-SR datasheet for the maximum supported distance over CAT6A. For most installations, 100m is achievable at full resolution.
- Can the scaler handle all input resolutions?
- The scaler supports scaling to EDID-preferred or custom resolution with some limitations at very low output resolutions when the source is 4K. See the scaling limitations note in the Lightware datasheet for specific exclusions.
- How many USB devices can be connected at the receiver end?
- Up to 6 USB-A ports total: 2 in composite (HID) mode and 4 in transparent mode. Supported device classes include HID, audio, video, mass storage, smart card, and hub.
- Does PoE eliminate the need for a power supply entirely?
- Yes, when the transmitter provides PoE, the receiver can operate without a local power adaptor. The included power adaptor provides an alternative where PoE is not available.
