Product Overview
The Lightware HDMI-TPN-RX107AU2K-SR is an SDVoE-compatible HDMI 2.0 scaling receiver that accepts video, audio, USB 2.0, RS-232, and IR signals from compatible TPN transmitters over a 10G Ethernet network. It outputs a scaled HDMI 2.0 signal at the local display, supports transparent and composite USB 2.0 transmission in the reverse direction, and is powered locally or remotely via PoE over the TPN input cable. The integrated scaler provides fast and uninterrupted output during source switching — critical in shared-space environments where signal disruption is unacceptable.
Product Description
The HDMI-TPN-RX107AU2K-SR operates as the display-side endpoint in a Lightware TPN AV-over-IP system. Connected to a 10G Ethernet switch alongside compatible TPN transmitters — such as the HDMI-TPN-TX207AU2K — it receives all bundled signals over a single network cable and outputs scaled HDMI 2.0 to the local display. The unit is plug-and-play compatible with Lightware TPX devices, simplifying field replacement in existing TPX network installations.

USB 2.0 extension operates in two modes: transparent mode supports audio, video, mass storage, HID, hub, and smart card devices connected at the receiver location — cameras, microphones, and touch screens at the display endpoint communicate back to the source. Composite mode restricts to HID devices only, useful for secure or simplified installations. Six USB-A ports (four transparent, two composite) are distributed across the rear panel. The scaler converts incoming signal format to the EDID preferred resolution of the connected display or to a manually set custom resolution; when active, output is always RGB 8-bit/component. HDR and Low Latency Dolby Vision are supported only when no scaling is applied. Analog audio is de-embedded from the received stream via a 5-pole Phoenix connector with adjustable volume. PoE (IEEE 802.3af) via the TPN RJ45 input eliminates the need for local AC power at each receiver location.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which transmitters are compatible with this receiver?
- The HDMI-TPN-RX107AU2K-SR is compatible with Lightware TPN and TPX transmitters, including the HDMI-TPN-TX207AU2K, and with SDVoE-compliant third-party transmitters. For USB 2.0 extension functionality, the connected transmitter must also support USB 2.0 — verify with the transmitter spec sheet.
- What is the difference between transparent and composite USB modes?
- Transparent mode supports a full range of USB 2.0 device classes (audio, video, mass storage, HID, hub, smart card) and is used for devices like cameras, microphones, and touch screens. Composite mode supports HID devices only — keyboards, mice, and similar low-bandwidth control devices. Mode selection depends on the USB devices connected at the receiver location.
- Does scaling affect HDR content?
- Yes. When scaling is active, the output is RGB 8-bit/component, and HDR metadata is not carried through. HDR and Low Latency Dolby Vision are only preserved in pass-through mode when source and display are running matching resolutions with no scaling applied.
- Can this receiver be powered without a local AC outlet?
- Yes. The unit accepts PoE (IEEE 802.3af) via the TPN RJ45 input from a compatible PoE switch or PoE injector. This simplifies installation at ceiling-mounted or recessed display positions where AC power access is impractical.
- What switch specifications are required for a TPN network?
- A 10GBase-T managed switch with sufficient ports for all TX and RX units is required. The switch must support multicast or unicast routing depending on system topology. Consult the Lightware TPN system design guide or contact Creation Networks for switch selection guidance.
- Is this unit rack-mountable?
- The HDMI-TPN-RX107AU2K-SR is a compact desktop/shelf unit, not a 1U rackmount chassis. It can be surface-mounted behind a display or on a rack shelf using appropriate mounting accessories.
- Where can I order with pre-sales network design support?
- Available at creationnetworks.net. Contact the team for switch recommendations, transmitter pairing, and USB device compatibility verification before ordering.
