Product Overview

The LEA Professional CS704D is a 4-channel, 700-watt-per-channel Dante networked amplifier suited for small to medium commercial AV installations requiring high output power with full network integration. Part of LEA's Dante Connect Series, the CS704D combines 700W/ch Class D output, Dante audio networking at 96kHz, onboard Analog Devices DSP, HiZ/LoZ per-channel selection, and LEA Cloud remote management in a single 1U rack-mount unit. It is the right choice when fewer but more powerful channels are needed — such as driving main loudspeaker arrays, high-impedance zone systems, or subwoofer circuits in a Dante-networked installation.

Product Description

Each of the CS704D's four output channels delivers 700 watts into 4-ohm or 8-ohm loads, 350 watts into 2-ohm loads, and 700 watts into 70V or 100V high-impedance loads. Per-channel HiZ/LoZ selection means a single CS704D can simultaneously drive a 70V distributed speaker circuit and low-impedance main loudspeakers without external impedance-matching hardware. Smart Power Bridge Technology allows any single channel to draw from the full power supply reserve, effectively doubling that channel's output without losing the remaining three channels — useful for bridging subwoofer circuits or powering high-demand line arrays.

Dante audio networking at 96kHz or 48kHz (Multicast or Unicast) provides 8x8 audio transport over standard IP infrastructure. AES67 interoperability is configurable through the Dante Controller software, enabling the CS704D to operate on mixed networked audio systems alongside AES67-compliant DSPs, stage boxes, and other devices from other manufacturers. Four balanced analog inputs with user-selectable 26 dB or 34 dB sensitivity allow direct connection from analog sources when Dante is not required for those inputs.

The onboard Analog Devices Sigma 96kHz DSP with 32-bit core provides full per-channel signal processing: up to 48 dB/octave IIR crossover filters (Linkwitz-Riley and Butterworth), 8-band parametric EQ, 100ms output delay, real-time load monitoring with pilot tone detection from internal or external sources, and user-adjustable Peak and RMS voltage limiting. The fully routable input matrix assigns any Dante or analog input to any output channel with primary and secondary priority routing, configured through the browser-based web UI or LEA Cloud.

LEA Cloud provides remote monitoring and control from any internet-connected browser without a VPN or proprietary software. Certified third-party control drivers cover Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, AMX, Control4, Savant, RTI, URC, Nice (formerly Elan), Symetrix, Xilica, Utelogy, Atlona, and Aurora Multimedia. The open Websocket and TCP API supports custom integrations. Three network connection modes — built-in Wi-Fi access point, venue Wi-Fi client, and Fast Ethernet — ensure the CS704D fits any site network architecture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the output power of the CS704D at different load impedances?

The CS704D delivers 700W per channel into 4-ohm and 8-ohm loads, 350W per channel into 2-ohm loads, and 700W per channel into 70V or 100V high-impedance loads. All power ratings are stated per individual channel.

Q: How does the CS704D differ from the CS704 (non-Dante version)?

The CS704D adds Dante audio networking (8x8 at 96kHz or 48kHz) and AES67 support to the standard CS704's analog input stage. Both models share the same 4-channel, 700W/ch output, DSP platform, Smart Power Bridge, HiZ/LoZ per-channel selection, and LEA Cloud connectivity. Choose the CS704D for Dante-networked audio installations; choose the CS704 for analog-only signal chains.

Q: What is Smart Power Bridge Technology and when would I use it?

Smart Power Bridge allows the CS704D to concentrate its full power supply output on any single channel, effectively doubling that channel’s available power without eliminating the other three output channels. This is useful when one zone or loudspeaker circuit requires significantly more headroom than the others — for example, a subwoofer circuit or a high-demand line array that needs burst power beyond the standard per-channel rating.

Q: What Dante configuration does the CS704D support?

The CS704D supports 8x8 Dante audio channels at 96kHz or 48kHz, with Multicast and Unicast routing available. AES67 interoperability is configured through the Dante Controller application, allowing the amplifier to operate alongside AES67-compliant equipment from other manufacturers on the same network segment.

Q: Which control systems are compatible with the CS704D?

LEA provides certified drivers for Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, AMX (Harman), Control4, Savant, RTI, URC, Nice (formerly Elan), Symetrix, Xilica, Utelogy, Atlona Velocity, and Aurora Multimedia. The open Websocket and TCP API enables custom integration with any compatible control platform or building management system.

Q: Does the CS704D require a VPN or proprietary software for remote management?

No. The CS704D connects to LEA Cloud over any standard internet connection. Once registered, the amplifier is accessible for monitoring and control from any web browser on any device. The built-in web UI is also available locally without an internet connection. No VPN, no proprietary client, and no annual software licensing fees are required.

Q: What is the warranty coverage for the CS704D?

US customers who register their product receive up to 6 years of warranty coverage. International customers receive a 5-year warranty; contact your local LEA Professional distributor for country-specific terms and conditions.

Q: Can I load speaker tuning files onto the CS704D?

Yes. LEA provides over 3,000 free speaker tuning files for brands including JBL, Bose, Sonance, Klipsch, QSC, Community, Danley, Martin Audio, Renkus-Heinz, and many others. Tuning files are uploaded directly through the web UI or applied via LEA Cloud for remote commissioning.
