Product Overview
The Kramer FC-46H2 is a professional 4K HDR HDMI audio de-embedder that extracts audio from HDMI signals at resolutions up to 4K@60Hz (4:4:4), delivering the de-embedded audio simultaneously to S/PDIF digital and 5-pin balanced analog outputs for integration with room audio systems. AV integrators use the FC-46H2 in conference rooms, boardrooms, and presentation spaces where the audio from an HDMI source or display ARC needs to be separately routed to an amplifier, DSP processor, or recording system without interrupting the HDMI video path. Support for HDCP 2.2 and HDR10 ensures 4K protected content passes through without signal degradation. The compact DigiTOOLS form factor and DIP-switch configuration make deployment and tuning straightforward without additional software.
Product Description
The FC-46H2 de-embeds audio from the HDMI input signal or from the connected display's ARC (Audio Return Channel) output — covering both presentation audio from the source and ARC audio from a display's built-in tuner or streaming app. De-embedded audio is output simultaneously on both an S/PDIF coaxial digital connector and a 5-pin balanced analog audio terminal block, allowing parallel connection to a digital DSP and an analog amplifier from a single unit. DIP switches on the unit configure three EDID management modes — pass-through, lock, or force 2-channel LPCM — without requiring software access. A contact closure input allows remote muting of the analog audio output for integration with room control panels. Kramer Equalization and re-Klocking rebuilds the HDMI signal for downstream cable reliability. Audio performance includes flat frequency response (20Hz–20kHz ±0.1dB), signal-to-noise ratio greater than 90dB, and THD+N of 0.004%.
Key Features
- 4K@60Hz (4:4:4) HDR HDMI Audio De-Embedding — De-embeds audio from 4K HDR HDMI signals at up to 18Gbps (6Gbps per channel), HDCP 2.2/1.4.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between de-embedding from the input and from ARC?
When set to input de-embedding, the FC-46H2 extracts audio from the HDMI signal coming from the source device (laptop, media player, etc.). When set to ARC, it extracts audio from the display's Audio Return Channel — useful for routing audio from the display's built-in apps, tuners, or streaming services to the room sound system.
Are both audio outputs active simultaneously?
Yes. The S/PDIF digital output and the 5-pin balanced analog output are simultaneously active, allowing parallel connection to a digital processor and an analog amplifier from the same unit.
Can the analog output be muted from a control system?
Yes. A contact closure input allows remote muting of the analog audio output, suitable for connection to a room control keypad button or relay output from a room controller.
Does the FC-46H2 support multi-channel audio formats?
The FC-46H2 de-embeds the HDMI audio stream. For multi-channel formats, the S/PDIF digital output carries the encoded bitstream (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.) for decoding by a downstream A/V receiver or processor. The balanced analog output provides stereo (2-channel) audio.
