Product Overview

The Kramer FC-101NET is a compact 2-channel Dante decoder and PoE acceptor that connects non-Dante devices — such as amplifiers, powered speakers, and analog audio systems — to a Dante audio network over a standard Ethernet infrastructure. AV integrators and system designers use the FC-101NET as the last-mile bridge between a Dante distribution network and analog-input devices that cannot natively accept Dante streams, eliminating the need for larger Dante interface hardware at each endpoint. Powered over Ethernet from any standard PoE switch, it installs without a local power supply, making it particularly practical for ceiling-mount, under-table, and in-wall enclosure installations. Volume control per output and RS-232 control via Kramer Protocol 3000 provide integration flexibility for room control systems.

Product Description

The FC-101NET receives two Dante audio channels over a standard RJ-45 Ethernet connection and converts them to two balanced mono analog audio outputs on 3-pin terminal block connectors for direct connection to amplifiers, powered speakers, and other balanced-input analog devices. AES67 interoperability support ensures compatibility with non-Dante AES67-compliant IP audio systems alongside Dante networks. The 32-bit DAC architecture with selectable sampling rates up to 96kHz preserves audio quality from the network to the analog output without perceptible degradation. Independent output volume control per channel allows level adjustment without requiring an external mixer or processor. RS-232 control via Kramer Protocol 3000 enables integration with third-party room control systems for volume automation and status monitoring. The PicoTOOLS form factor allows four units to be rack-mounted side-by-side in a 1U rack space using the optional rack adapter, or mounted individually with the included dual-lock tape and bracket set for surface, device-back, or under-table installation.

Key Features

  • 2-Channel Dante Decoder — Receives 2 Dante audio channels from an Ethernet network and outputs balanced mono analog audio.
  • PoE Powered — Powered over Ethernet from any standard PoE network switch; no local power supply required.
  • Balanced Analog Outputs — 2x balanced mono audio on 3-pin terminal block connectors for amplifiers and speakers.
  • AES67 Interoperability — Supports AES67 alongside Dante for compatibility with multi-platform IP audio networks.
  • 32-Bit DAC, up to 96kHz — Studio-grade conversion from Dante network to analog with selectable sampling rates.
  • Per-Channel Output Volume Control — Independent level adjustment per output without external processors.
  • Kramer Protocol 3000 RS-232 Control — Serial control for room automation system integration.
  • PicoTOOLS Form Factor — Four units fit in 1U rack with optional adapter; dual-lock tape and bracket for surface mounting.

Typical Applications

  • Conference room Dante audio endpoint to analog amplifiers and speakers
  • University classroom Dante distribution network analog outputs
  • House of worship Dante to analog audio zone feeds
  • Corporate campus multi-zone Dante audio distribution endpoints
  • Training room and all-hands room Dante audio termination

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between FC-101NET and FC-102NET?

The FC-101NET is a Dante decoder — it receives Dante audio from the network and outputs balanced analog audio to amplifiers and speakers. The FC-102NET is a Dante encoder — it accepts balanced analog audio inputs (from microphones or line sources) and sends them onto the Dante network. Together they form a complete Dante interface pair for non-Dante devices at both ends of the signal chain.

Does the FC-101NET require a Dante-licensed network?

The FC-101NET requires a Dante network infrastructure, including a Dante-capable network switch and Dante Controller software for channel routing. It does not require a separate Dante license beyond the standard Dante protocol embedded in the device.

Can volume be controlled remotely from a room control system?

Yes. RS-232 control via Kramer Protocol 3000 allows volume levels to be adjusted from Kramer Control, Crestron, AMX, or other RS-232-capable room control systems.

Is professional installation required?

Yes. Dante network configuration requires professional setup using Dante Controller software. The FC-101NET is intended for installation by qualified AV integrators with Dante networking experience.

What warranty applies?

Kramer products carry a standard manufacturer warranty. Contact Creation Networks at https://creationnetworks.net for warranty terms and Dante system design assistance.
