Standard USB 3.0 cables are limited to approximately 3–5 meters before signal degradation occurs. The CA-USB3/AAE-50 uses active signal amplification technology embedded within the cable to reliably extend USB 3.0 at the full SuperSpeed 5Gbps data rate over 50 feet (approximately 15 meters). This makes it well suited for AV environments where a USB camera or speakerphone must be positioned at the far end of a conference table or mounted on a wall, while the host computer or video conferencing system remains in an equipment closet or rack.
