What is the Kramer EXT3-H-R HDBaseT 3.0 receiver?
The Kramer EXT3-H-R is an HDBaseT 3.0 receiver that converts a twisted pair HDBaseT signal back to 4K@60Hz or 5K@30Hz 4:4:4 HDR HDMI, with bidirectional RS-232 and IR for display and projector control. It extends video up to 40m (130ft) over Kramer CAT cable. It is the locally powered receiver in the EXT3 family, for display locations where an outlet is already planned.

How does the Kramer EXT3-H-R work?
The EXT3-H-R accepts an HDBaseT 3.0 signal and outputs HDMI plus RS-232 and IR. Video is received uncompressed with near-zero latency at up to 18Gbps, with HDR10, HDCP 2.3, deep color, lossless audio formats, EDID and CEC passed between source and display.
It is a standard HDBaseT extender, backward compatible with other standard HDBT transmitters, and can serve as the receive-end unit for Kramer matrix switchers and switchers with integrated HDBaseT 3.0 ports. That makes it a practical display-end unit in multi-room routed systems as well as simple point-to-point links.
Bidirectional RS-232 at up to 115200 baud and bidirectional IR let a control system or remote reach the display. Status LEDs and local firmware upgrades over RS-232 simplify service, and the fanless DigiTOOLS enclosure mounts behind a display, above a ceiling or three per 1U in a rack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which transmitter pairs with the EXT3-H-R?
Its matching transmitter is the EXT3-H-T. It also works with other standard HDBaseT transmitters and Kramer switchers that have HDBaseT 3.0 outputs.
Is the EXT3-H-R PoE powered?
No. It uses a 12V DC power adapter. If you need PoE between the two ends, use the EXT3-H-POE-R and EXT3-H-POE-T.
Does it support 5K?
Yes, up to 5K@30Hz 4:4:4 as well as 4K@60Hz 4:4:4.
Can it control the display?
Yes. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR carry control from the rack or room controller to the display.
What are the alternatives for longer 4K runs?
Compare the Kramer TP-583RXR extended-reach receiver or the Kramer TP-580R. Three EXT3 units fit in 1U with the Kramer RK-3T-B rack adapter.
