What is the Kramer EXT3-POE-XR-R HDBaseT 3.0 receiver?
The Kramer EXT3-POE-XR-R is an extended-reach HDBaseT 3.0 receiver for 4K@60Hz or 5K@30Hz 4:4:4 HDMI, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, RS-232 and IR, with two-way powering over the same twisted pair cable. It reaches up to 100m (330ft) at 4K60 4:4:4. It is the display-end partner for Kramer's EXT3 USB-C transmitters in BYOD and hybrid meeting rooms, where the room camera, speakerphone and display all sit at the far end of the cable.

How does the Kramer EXT3-POE-XR-R work?
The receiver takes the HDBaseT 3.0 signal and converts it back to the original HDMI, USB, Ethernet, RS-232 and IR signals. Video arrives uncompressed at up to 18Gbps with HDCP 2.3.
Power is auto-sensed: the receiver either provides PoE over the extension cable to a PoE acceptor such as a wall plate transmitter, or accepts PoE from a PoE-providing transmitter. One power supply at either end can run the whole link.
A USB-B host port and three USB-A device ports, with an integrated hub, extend USB 2.0 at up to 480Mbps, so a laptop at the table can use a room camera, speakerphone or touch display at the receiver end. A Gigabit Ethernet port extends the network, and RS-232 and IR control the display. The MegaTOOLS aluminum enclosure is convection cooled.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which transmitters pair with the EXT3-POE-XR-R?
Kramer pairs it with the EXT3-C-XR-T and EXT3-C-WP-XR-T USB-C transmitters. As a standard HDBaseT extender it also works with HDBaseT-compliant transmitters.
Can it power a wall plate transmitter?
Yes. It auto-senses and can provide PoE over the extension cable to a PoE acceptor, or accept PoE from a PoE-providing transmitter.
Can I connect a USB conference camera to it?
Yes. Its three USB 2.0 device ports extend cameras, speakerphones and HID devices to the host at the other end. A camera such as the Kramer K-CAM4K is a common pairing.
How do I rack mount it?
It uses a MegaTOOLS enclosure; the Kramer RK-T2B-B rack adapter is designed for MegaTOOLS units.
What are the HDBaseT 2.0 alternatives?
Compare the Kramer TP-590RXR receiver, which also extends USB over HDBaseT 2.0.
