Product Overview
The K-Array Thunder KS4W I white subwoofer is a self-powered dual 18" subwoofer with onboard DSP, finished in architectural white for design-sensitive commercial AV installation. Its two 18" neodymium woofers and four-channel 2500W Class D amplifier produce 141 dB peak SPL with bass extension to 35 Hz, while amplifier power outputs let it drive passive K-array loudspeakers as the core of a complete system. For integrators planning a white powered subwoofer for house of worship installation, a modern auditorium, or a bright corporate all-hands room, the KS4W I delivers maximum low-frequency output without visually dominating the space.
Product Description
The Thunder KS4W I is the white-finish version of K-array's flagship self-powered Thunder subwoofer, pairing dual 18" neodymium magnet woofers with a 4x 2500W @ 4 ohm Class D amplifier module. Its factory white polyurea finish blends into light-colored walls, contemporary sanctuaries, galleries, and architectural interiors where standard black touring cabinets would be visually intrusive; custom RAL colors are also available for exact architectural matching. The key system-building feature is its set of audio power outputs: two SpeakON NL4 connectors allow the KS4W I to power passive K-array midrange loudspeakers and passive subwoofers directly, so one enclosure handles amplification, DSP, and sub-bass for an entire room.

Onboard DSP runs on the embedded osKar operating system with a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and provides a freely assignable routing matrix, parametric input and output EQ, dynamic limiters, and up to 230 ms of channel delay. Dual XLR connectors accept balanced analog or AES3 digital signals with link outputs for chaining, and an RJ45 port supports wired control through K-Framework3 software alongside wireless commissioning via the K-array Connect app. The bass reflex Finnish birch plywood cabinet carries an IP53 rating for reliable service in commercial environments. The same model is available in black as the Thunder KS4 I, and matching white K-array satellites are in our K-array collection.
Key Features
- Architectural White Finish — The factory white polyurea coating integrates discreetly into light interiors, sanctuaries, and design-led commercial spaces.
- Dual 18" Neodymium Woofers — Two 18" neodymium magnet drivers deliver 141 dB peak SPL and low-frequency extension down to 35 Hz for large venues.
- 4x 2500W Class D Amplification — The built-in four-channel amplifier supplies 2500W per channel at 4 ohms for the subwoofer and connected passive speakers.
- Power Outputs for Passive K-array Speakers — Two SpeakON NL4 outputs drive passive K-array satellite and subwoofer elements, making the KS4W I the powered hub of a full system.
- Onboard DSP with Routing Matrix — Integrated processing offers parametric EQ, selectable IIR filters, dynamic limiters, signal routing, and up to 230 ms of delay.
- Analog and AES3 Digital I/O — Dual XLR inputs and link outputs handle balanced analog or AES3 digital signals for clean integration with networked AV systems.
- Ethernet and App Control — K-Framework3 software manages units over wired LAN while the K-array Connect app provides wireless access to DSP parameters.
- IP53-Rated Plywood Enclosure — The polyurea-coated Finnish birch cabinet resists dust and water spray for dependable long-term installation.
- Custom RAL Options — Beyond white, K-array offers custom RAL paint on demand to match specific architectural color schemes.
Typical Applications
- House of worship installations where white cabinets preserve sanctuary aesthetics
- Auditorium sound reinforcement in light-toned modern interiors
- All-hands rooms and commercial meeting spaces with white architectural finishes
- Multi-purpose rooms hosting live music, presentations, and events

Frequently Asked Questions
Which passive K-array speakers can the Thunder KS4W I drive?
Its four 2500W amplifier channels and SpeakON NL4 outputs power passive K-array midrange loudspeakers and passive subwoofers using dedicated onboard presets. White-finish K-array satellites pair naturally with the KS4W I for a fully color-matched installation; contact us to confirm channel loading for your speaker list.
Is the white finish factory-applied and durable for commercial use?
Yes. The white polyurea coating is applied at the factory over the Finnish birch plywood cabinet and provides the same environmental resistance and IP53 rating as the black version, with custom RAL colors also available on demand.
Can the KS4W I eliminate a separate amplifier rack in my design?
In many systems, yes. With 4x 2500W of amplification plus a routing matrix, parametric EQ, limiters, and delay onboard, one KS4W I can power and process a complete satellite-plus-subwoofer system without external amplifiers or processors.
How does the KS4W I integrate with control systems like Crestron or Q-SYS?
K-array offers control plugins for Q-SYS, Crestron, Control4, and other platforms, while day-to-day configuration uses K-Framework3 over wired Ethernet or the K-array Connect mobile app over Wi-Fi.
How does the KS4W I compare with the white KS3W I and KS2W I?
The KS4W I uses dual 18" drivers and 4x 2500W amplification for 141 dB peak SPL, the KS3W I a single 21" driver at 139 dB, and the KS2W I a single 18" driver with 4x 1500W amplification at 137 dB. Specify the KS4W I when a large room demands maximum low-frequency headroom in a white finish.
