Product Overview
The K-Array Thunder KS3W I white subwoofer is a self-powered 21" subwoofer with onboard DSP, finished in architectural white for design-sensitive commercial AV installation. Its 21" neodymium woofer reaches 30 Hz — the deepest extension in the Thunder KS I line — while a four-channel 2500W Class D amplifier delivers 139 dB peak SPL and powers passive K-array loudspeakers through dedicated speaker outputs. For consultants specifying a white powered subwoofer for house of worship installation, a contemporary auditorium, or a light-toned multi-purpose room, the KS3W I combines deep bass, system amplification, and discreet aesthetics in one cabinet.
Product Description
The Thunder KS3W I is the white-finish version of K-array's 21" self-powered Thunder subwoofer, built around a single large-format neodymium magnet woofer in a bass reflex Finnish birch plywood enclosure. The factory white polyurea coating lets the cabinet recede into bright sanctuaries, galleries, and modern corporate interiors where black touring enclosures would draw the eye, and custom RAL colors are available for precise architectural matching. Its defining system feature is the pair of SpeakON NL4 power outputs fed by the onboard 4x 2500W @ 4 ohm Class D amplifier, which can drive passive K-array midrange loudspeakers and passive subwoofers directly — one KS3W I can amplify and process an entire room.

The onboard DSP runs on the embedded osKar operating system with a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and offers a freely assignable routing matrix, parametric input and output EQ, dynamic limiters, and up to 230 ms of channel delay. Dual XLR connectors handle balanced analog or AES3 digital signals with link outputs for chaining, an RJ45 port supports wired control through K-Framework3, and the K-array Connect app provides wireless commissioning access. The IP53-rated cabinet stands up to dust and water spray in commercial environments. The same subwoofer is available in black as the Thunder KS3 I, and matching white satellites are in our K-array collection.
Key Features
- Architectural White Finish — The factory white polyurea coating blends into light interiors, sanctuaries, and design-led commercial venues.
- 21" Woofer with 30 Hz Extension — The single neodymium driver reproduces program material down to 30 Hz, the deepest reach in the Thunder KS I family.
- 139 dB Peak SPL Output — High maximum output allows one discreet enclosure to cover auditoriums and large gathering spaces.
- 4x 2500W Class D Amplification — The built-in four-channel amplifier delivers 2500W per channel at 4 ohms for the subwoofer and external passive speakers.
- Power Outputs for Passive K-array Speakers — Two SpeakON NL4 outputs drive passive K-array satellites and subwoofers, making the KS3W I a complete powered system core.
- Onboard DSP with Routing Matrix — Integrated processing provides parametric EQ, selectable IIR filters, dynamic limiters, signal routing, and up to 230 ms of delay.
- Analog and AES3 Digital I/O — Dual XLR inputs and link outputs accept balanced analog or AES3 digital signals for modern commercial integration.
- Ethernet and App Control — K-Framework3 software manages units over wired LAN while the K-array Connect app gives wireless access to DSP settings.
- IP53-Rated Enclosure — The polyurea-coated birch plywood cabinet resists dust and water spray for long-term installed reliability.
Typical Applications
- House of worship installations where white cabinets preserve sanctuary design
- Auditorium sound reinforcement in light-toned contemporary interiors
- Multi-purpose rooms hosting music, ceremonies, and presentations
- All-hands rooms and commercial meeting spaces with white architectural finishes
- Broadcast studio environments needing deep, accurate low-frequency support

Frequently Asked Questions
Which passive K-array speakers can the Thunder KS3W I power?
Its four 2500W amplifier channels and SpeakON NL4 outputs drive passive K-array midrange loudspeakers and passive subwoofers with dedicated onboard presets. White-finish K-array satellites pair with the KS3W I for a fully color-matched system; we can confirm channel loading for your design before you order.
Is the white finish suitable for permanent commercial installation?
Yes. The white polyurea coating is factory-applied over the birch plywood cabinet and carries the same IP53 rating and environmental resistance as the black version, with custom RAL colors available on demand for exact architectural matches.
Why specify the 21" KS3W I instead of the dual-18" KS4W I?
The KS3W I extends to 30 Hz — deeper than the KS4W I's 35 Hz — in a narrower cabinet, making it the better fit when low-frequency depth and a compact white footprint matter more than absolute maximum SPL.
Can one KS3W I replace a separate amplifier and DSP rack?
In many rooms, yes. With 4x 2500W of amplification plus a routing matrix, parametric EQ, limiters, and delay onboard, a single unit can power and process a complete satellite-plus-subwoofer system.
How is the KS3W I rigged or mounted in an installation?
K-array offers white suspension hardware including the K-EXTFRAME3W kit and marine-grade fly hardware for white units, plus the K-POLE2 extendable pole for mounting a satellite speaker above the cabinet.
