Product Overview
The K-Array Thunder KS2W I white subwoofer is a compact self-powered 18" subwoofer with onboard DSP, finished in architectural white for design-sensitive commercial AV installation. The lightest self-powered model in the Thunder KS I line at 37.6 kg, it pairs an 18" neodymium woofer with a four-channel 1500W Class D amplifier for 137 dB peak SPL and response down to 35 Hz. Its amplifier power outputs drive passive K-array loudspeakers directly, making the KS2W I a discreet powered system core. It is a natural fit for a white powered subwoofer in house of worship installation, bright training rooms, and modern commercial meeting spaces.
Product Description
The Thunder KS2W I is the white-finish version of K-array's most compact self-powered Thunder subwoofer, combining an 18" neodymium magnet woofer with a 4x 1500W @ 4 ohm Class D amplifier in a bass reflex cabinet only 650 mm wide. The factory white polyurea coating disappears against light walls in sanctuaries, classrooms, and contemporary corporate interiors, and custom RAL colors are available where an exact architectural match is required. For system designers, the defining capability is its pair of SpeakON NL4 power outputs: the KS2W I can drive passive K-array midrange loudspeakers and passive subwoofers from its own amplifier channels, so one white enclosure can power and process an entire room.

Onboard DSP runs on the embedded osKar operating system with a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and provides a freely assignable routing matrix, parametric input and output EQ, dynamic limiters, and up to 230 ms of channel delay. Two XLR inputs accept balanced analog or AES3 digital signals with link outputs for chaining, while an RJ45 port supports wired control through K-Framework3 software and the K-array Connect app handles wireless commissioning. The IP53-rated Finnish birch plywood cabinet stands up to dust and water spray in commercial service. The same subwoofer is offered in black as the Thunder KS2 I, and matching white K-array satellites are in our K-array collection.
Key Features
- Architectural White Finish — The factory white polyurea coating integrates discreetly into sanctuaries, classrooms, and light-toned commercial interiors.
- Compact, Lightweight Cabinet — At 37.6 kg and 650 mm wide, the KS2W I is the easiest Thunder KS I model to position in finished architectural spaces.
- 137 dB Peak SPL with 35 Hz Extension — The 18" neodymium woofer covers the low-frequency needs of mid-size commercial rooms from one small enclosure.
- 4x 1500W Class D Amplification — The built-in four-channel amplifier delivers 1500W per channel at 4 ohms for the subwoofer and connected passive speakers.
- Power Outputs for Passive K-array Speakers — Two SpeakON NL4 outputs drive passive K-array satellites and subwoofers, letting one KS2W I power a complete system.
- Onboard DSP with Routing Matrix — Integrated processing offers parametric EQ, selectable IIR filters, dynamic limiters, signal routing, and up to 230 ms of delay.
- Analog and AES3 Digital I/O — Dual XLR inputs and link outputs accept balanced analog or AES3 digital signals for clean commercial integration.
- Ethernet and App Control — K-Framework3 software manages units over wired LAN while the K-array Connect app provides wireless access to DSP parameters.
- IP53-Rated Enclosure — The polyurea-coated birch plywood cabinet resists dust and water spray for reliable long-term installation.
Typical Applications
- House of worship installations where a white cabinet preserves sanctuary aesthetics
- Training rooms and commercial meeting spaces with light architectural finishes
- Multi-purpose rooms hosting presentations, events, and program audio
- All-hands rooms needing full-range sound without a visible amplifier rack
- Broadcast studio environments requiring compact low-frequency support

Frequently Asked Questions
Which passive K-array speakers can the Thunder KS2W I power?
Its four 1500W amplifier channels and SpeakON NL4 outputs drive passive K-array midrange loudspeakers and passive subwoofers using dedicated onboard presets. White K-array satellites pair with the KS2W I for a fully color-matched installation; we can verify channel loading for your design before you order.
Is the white finish durable for commercial environments?
Yes. The white polyurea coating is factory-applied over the Finnish birch plywood cabinet and carries the same IP53 rating and environmental resistance as the black version, with custom RAL options available on demand.
Is the KS2W I powerful enough for my space?
With 137 dB peak SPL and 35 Hz extension, it covers most worship spaces, training rooms, and mid-size multi-purpose rooms. Larger venues should consider the white 21" KS3W I (139 dB) or dual-18" KS4W I (141 dB).
Can the KS2W I replace a separate amplifier and DSP?
In many small and mid-size systems, yes. With 4x 1500W of amplification plus a routing matrix, parametric EQ, limiters, and delay onboard, one unit powers and processes a complete satellite-plus-subwoofer system.
Can a satellite speaker mount on top of the cabinet?
Yes. The cabinet includes an M20 pole mount compatible with the K-POLE2 extendable pole, so a white K-array satellite can sit directly above the subwoofer as a compact full-range column.
