Product Overview

The K-Array Pinnacle KR402 II is a powered stereo line array system that combines four Python KP102 I stainless steel column elements with a self-powered Thunder KS3 I subwoofer and a matching passive Thunder KS3P I subwoofer. Because the amplification and DSP live inside the KS3 I, this self-powered column speaker system needs no external rack amplifier, which simplifies a commercial line array installation in rooms without dedicated equipment closets. Integrators specifying house of worship line array speakers, auditorium reinforcement, or a multi-purpose room audio system get full-range stereo coverage from a visually discreet package. K-JOINT3 and K-FOOT3 mounting hardware is included, so the system arrives deployment-ready.

Product Description

The powered side of the system is built around the Thunder KS3 I, a compact active subwoofer with a 21" neodymium magnet woofer and an onboard Class D amplifier module rated at 4x 2500 W into 4 ohms with built-in DSP. The KS3 I drives the pair of Python KP102 I columns mounted on its top and powers the second stack, where a passive Thunder KS3P I subwoofer supports the remaining two KP102 I elements, completing the stereo pair without any additional electronics.

K-Array Pinnacle KR402 II powered stereo line array system with KP102 I columns and Thunder subwoofers in black

Each Python KP102 I element is a meter-long stainless steel column loaded with twelve 3.15" neodymium magnet transducers. The closely spaced drivers deliver the long throw and high speech intelligibility of a pure line array, with controlled 7°–30° vertical dispersion and a 90° horizontal pattern that keeps energy on the audience rather than on reflective ceilings and walls. The onboard DSP provides channel grouping, a 3-band parametric input EQ, an 8-band parametric output EQ with selectable filter types, dynamic limiters, freely assignable signal routing, and up to 230 ms of channel delay. Day-to-day control runs through the K-array Connect mobile app, while K-Framework3 software manages larger multi-unit projects over wired LAN. A passive version of this package is available as the Pinnacle KR402P II in black or the KR402PW II in white, and this powered system also comes in white as the Pinnacle KR402W II. Key Features

  • Self-Powered System Core — The Thunder KS3 I integrates a Class D amplifier rated at 4x 2500 W into 4 ohms with built-in DSP, so no external rack amplifier is required to drive the complete stereo system.
  • Complete Powered Stereo Package — The bundle includes one KS3 I active subwoofer, one KS3P I passive subwoofer, four KP102 I line array elements, four K-JOINT3 connectors, and two K-FOOT3 adapters under a single part number.
  • Pure Line Array Performance — Each KP102 I uses twelve closely spaced 3.15" neodymium transducers to achieve long throw and high intelligibility with 134 dB peak SPL per element.
  • Controlled Coverage Pattern — The 7°–30° vertical by 90° horizontal dispersion keeps sound focused on listeners and reduces reflections in acoustically difficult rooms.
  • Deep Low-Frequency Extension — Both 21" neodymium subwoofers extend bass response down to 30 Hz from compact, polyurea-coated birch plywood enclosures.
  • Comprehensive Onboard DSP — Channel grouping, 3-band parametric input EQ, 8-band parametric output EQ, dynamic limiters, assignable routing, and up to 230 ms channel delay are all processed inside the KS3 I.
  • App and Network Control — The K-array Connect mobile app handles remote control, while K-Framework3 and the built-in Web App manage units over wired LAN, with plugins for Q-SYS, Crestron, Control4, Kramer, RTI, Savant, and Symetrix.
  • Discreet Stainless Steel Build — The slim, meter-long column profile blends into architecturally sensitive spaces where conventional loudspeaker cabinets would be intrusive.
  • Five-Year Manufacturer Warranty — K-Array backs its products with a 5-year warranty policy for long-term installation confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the KR402 II require a separate amplifier?

No. The Thunder KS3 I subwoofer contains a Class D amplifier rated at 4x 2500 W into 4 ohms with built-in DSP, and it powers the passive KS3P I subwoofer and all four KP102 I columns. If you prefer rack-based electronics, see the passive Pinnacle KR402P II, which ships with a Kommander KA104 amplifier.

Can the KR402 II integrate with our existing control system?

Yes. K-Array provides plugins for Q-SYS, Crestron, Control4, Kramer, RTI, Savant, and Symetrix, and the K-array Connect mobile app handles day-to-day remote control of DSP parameters and routing.

How are the KP102 I columns mounted?

The package includes four K-JOINT3 joining brackets and two K-FOOT3 adapters for standing the columns on top of the Thunder subwoofers or a 35 mm pole. Wall and fly options such as the K-WALL2 and K-FLY3 are available separately, and final rigging should be specified by a qualified installer.

Is this system suitable for speech-critical rooms?

Yes. The pure line array geometry of the KP102 I is designed for high speech intelligibility and long throw, which suits houses of worship, auditoriums, government meeting spaces, and all-hands rooms.

What warranty applies to this system?

K-Array products carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty. Creation Networks supports the sale with pre- and post-installation assistance for commercial AV buyers.

Is a white version available?

Yes. The same powered system in white is sold as the Pinnacle KR402W II, and custom RAL finishes can be quoted through Creation Networks.
