Product Overview

The K-Array Mugello KH5P I is an ultra-thin passive line array element engineered for large-scale concerts, touring production, and permanent large-venue installation. As a double 15-inch line array speaker delivering 147 dB peak SPL from a cabinet only 210 mm deep, it brings large-format output to projects where truck pack, weight, and sightlines are critical constraints. Slim Array Technology gives the KH5P I a cardioid polar pattern across its entire frequency range, while K-array's Electronic Beam Steering digitally adjusts vertical dispersion in the array for precise aiming of the sound field. For integrators specifying a quad-amp passive line array for auditoriums, houses of worship, or touring rigs, the KH5P I pairs flagship performance with an exceptionally shallow footprint.

Product Description

Each Mugello KH5P I cabinet houses two 15-inch neodymium magnet woofers with 2.5-inch voice coils and four horn-loaded compression drivers, also with 2.5-inch voice coils, in a shallow polyurea-coated birch plywood frame. The quad-amp design splits the box into two HF sections rated 250 W peak at 16 ohms and two LF sections rated 800 W peak at 8 ohms, giving the system processor independent control of each section for accurate crossover, limiting, and steering behavior.

Slim Array Technology improves impulse response compared with conventional deep-horn designs and maintains a cardioid pattern over the full operating range, reducing energy on stage and behind the array without dedicated rear-firing cabinets. Coverage is 110 degrees horizontal with a 7-degree vertical slice per element that becomes digitally adjustable when elements are flown in an array and driven through Electronic Beam Steering processing. Connection is through four SpeakON connectors — two inputs carrying discrete HF and LF feeds plus two link outputs — which simplifies multi-box looms in touring systems. The frequency response of 120 Hz to 19 kHz (-6 dB) with the dedicated preset is designed to integrate with K-array subwoofers for full-bandwidth reinforcement. See companion subwoofers and amplification in our K-Array collection.

Key Features

  • 147 dB Peak SPL — Double 15-inch woofers and four compression drivers produce headline-stage output suitable for large-scale concerts and live events.
  • Ultra-Thin Cabinet Profile — A net depth of just 200 mm dramatically reduces visual impact in installations and saves truck space on tour compared with conventional large-format boxes.
  • Cardioid Polar Pattern — Slim Array Technology maintains cardioid directivity across the full frequency range, cutting rear spill onto stages and reflective back walls.
  • Electronic Beam Steering — Vertical dispersion is digitally adjustable in the array, letting system techs aim coverage at the audience plane without re-rigging.
  • Quad-Amp Passive Architecture — Separate 16-ohm HF and 8-ohm LF sections per side give the drive processor independent control of each transducer group for precise system tuning.
  • Improved Impulse Response — The shallow box geometry of Slim Array Technology yields tighter transient reproduction than deep horn-loaded equivalents.
  • Tour-Grade Construction — Polyurea-coated birch plywood with an IP54 rating withstands daily load-ins and weather-protected outdoor staging.
  • Integrated Rigging Hardware — Cabinets fly with included rigging for mechanically angled arrays that combine with digital steering for exact coverage.

Typical Applications

  • Auditorium
  • House of worship
  • Multi-purpose room

Frequently Asked Questions

What amplification does the Mugello KH5P I need?

The KH5P I is a quad-amp passive design: each cabinet requires two HF channels (250 W peak at 16 ohms) and two LF channels (800 W peak at 8 ohms) from a DSP amplifier platform. K-array's Kommander-series amplifiers provide matched presets and the Electronic Beam Steering processing the system is designed around.

How is Electronic Beam Steering applied to a passive cabinet?

Because each HF and LF section is on its own amplifier channel, the drive processor can apply per-section filtering and delay across the flown array. Combined with mechanical inter-cabinet angles, this digitally adjusts the vertical sound beam to match the audience geometry.

Does the KH5P I need subwoofers?

For full-range program, yes. With a -6 dB point of 120 Hz, the KH5P I is intended to be deployed with companion K-array subwoofers, which our team can specify for your venue size and program material.

How does it connect in a touring rig?

Each cabinet carries four SpeakON connectors: two inputs with discrete HF and LF pins and two link outputs that pass the input signals to the next box, keeping multi-cabinet looms simple and fast at load-in.

Can Creation Networks design the full system?

Yes. We support coverage modeling, amplifier channel counts, rigging review, and DSP configuration for installed and touring deployments. Reach out through creationnetworks.net to start a system design consultation.

What warranty and support are included?

The Mugello KH5P I carries K-array's manufacturer warranty, and Creation Networks manages support and warranty coordination for every unit sold through our store. Contact us with your order number for service assistance.
