Product Overview
The K-Array Mugello KH2P I line array is an ultra-thin passive double 8" line array element engineered for installed sound and live production where high output must come from a minimal visual footprint. This slim line array for installation delivers 142 dB peak SPL from a cabinet only 200 mm deep, making it one of the most compact full-throw elements in its class. With Electronic Beam Steering and a cardioid polar pattern across its entire frequency range, the KH2P I gives integrators precise control of coverage in acoustically challenging auditoriums, houses of worship, and broadcast spaces.
Product Description
Each Mugello KH2P I element houses two 8" neodymium magnet woofers with 2.5" voice coils and two compression drivers with 2.5" voice coils in a polyurea-coated birch plywood enclosure. K-Array's Slim Array Technology (SAT) yields a faster impulse response than conventional trapezoidal boxes and produces a cardioid polar pattern over the full operating range, reducing rear energy spill onto stages and reflective back walls. The bi-amp passive design presents 8 ohms on the LF section and 16 ohms on the HF section through dual SpeakON connectors with a link output for daisy-chaining array elements.

Beyond mechanical aiming, K-Array's Electronic Beam Steering (EBS) technology digitally adjusts the vertical dispersion of an array, steering the 20° adjustable vertical beam onto the audience and away from ceilings and balcony faces. The 110° horizontal coverage suits wide rooms, and at 24 kg with rigging hardware the element flies quickly in both temporary and permanent installations. Black, White, and Custom RAL finishes help arrays disappear against architecture. Pair the KH2P I with K-Array Thunder subwoofers such as the Thunder KS1 I self-powered subwoofer, or explore the complete K-Array collection at Creation Networks.

Key Features
- Ultra-Thin Slim Array Technology — The flat SAT cabinet improves impulse response and keeps the array visually unobtrusive in design-sensitive venues.
- 142 dB Peak SPL — High output from a compact double 8" element lets shorter arrays cover rooms that would otherwise require larger boxes.
- Cardioid Polar Pattern — Cardioid directivity across the entire frequency range minimizes rear sound dispersion and lowers feedback risk on stage.
- Electronic Beam Steering — The 20° vertical beam is digitally adjustable in an array, so coverage can be re-aimed in software without re-rigging.
- Wide 110° Horizontal Coverage — Broad horizontal dispersion covers wide seating areas with fewer hang positions.
- Bi-Amp Passive Design — Separate 1200 W peak LF (8 ohm) and 250 W peak HF (16 ohm) sections allow precise external DSP crossover and amplifier integration.
- Linkable SpeakON Connectivity — Dual SpeakON connectors with a link output simplify wiring multiple elements in an array.
- Durable Polyurea-Coated Birch — The coated plywood enclosure stands up to touring and long-term installation duty.
- Architectural Finish Options — Black, White, and Custom RAL color matching integrate the array into any interior scheme.
Typical Applications
- Auditorium main PA arrays where throw and intelligibility are critical
- House of worship sanctuaries needing high output with minimal visual impact
- Broadcast studio audience sound reinforcement with controlled rear rejection
- Multi-purpose room and all-hands room reinforcement for live events and corporate presentations

Frequently Asked Questions
What amplification and DSP does the Mugello KH2P I require?
The KH2P I is a bi-amp passive element, so each box needs two amplifier channels with external DSP crossover: one driving the 8-ohm LF section (1200 W peak) and one driving the 16-ohm HF section (250 W peak). K-Array amplifier platforms include factory presets for the Mugello series, and Creation Networks can specify a matched amplification package.
How does Electronic Beam Steering work in an installed system?
When multiple KH2P I elements are arrayed and processed through K-Array electronics, the vertical beam can be steered digitally to aim sound at seating areas and away from reflective surfaces, allowing fine coverage adjustment after the array is rigged.
Which subwoofers pair with the KH2P I?
K-Array's Thunder series is the intended companion; the system response of the KH2P I begins at 120 Hz, so a Thunder subwoofer such as the KS1 I or KS3 I extends low-frequency reinforcement for full-range program material.
Can the KH2P I be flown and ground-stacked?
Yes. The element ships with integrated rigging hardware for flown arrays, and K-Array offers accessories for ground-stacked configurations; dimensions and weight (24 kg with rigging) keep handling manageable for small crews.
Is the cabinet suitable for permanent installation?
Yes. The polyurea-coated birch plywood enclosure and Black, White, or Custom RAL finishes are designed for long-term installed use; for permanent outdoor installation K-Array recommends additional protection measures.
What warranty applies to this product?
K-Array products are covered by the manufacturer's 5-year warranty policy, and Creation Networks provides design support and after-sale assistance for commercial integrators.
