Product Overview

The K-Array Kobra KK102 I is a slim variable beam line array element built for commercial AV installations where the loudspeaker must all but vanish from view. Sixteen 2-inch neodymium magnet woofers line a one-meter stainless steel column only 59 mm wide, delivering up to 126 dB peak SPL with adjustable 7°–35° vertical by 120° horizontal coverage — the widest horizontal pattern in K-Array's column range. This passive column speaker excels at speech reinforcement and distributed audio in houses of worship, conference rooms, and multi-zone commercial spaces. Selectable 8-ohm or 32-ohm impedance keeps amplifier loading flexible across multi-element systems. This is the black finish; see also the white Kobra KK102W I.

Product Description

The Kobra series is K-Array's signature ultra-slim column, and the KK102 I is its full-length flagship: a meter-long line source barely wider than the 2-inch drivers it carries. Sixteen closely spaced neodymium woofers produce true line array behavior with 150 Hz – 18 kHz response, projecting intelligible speech and program material across near-field and medium-throw distances while the 120° horizontal pattern covers wide rooms with fewer elements. Variable beam control sets vertical coverage between 7° and 35° to match seating depth, and the selectable 8/32-ohm impedance allows multiple elements to share amplifier channels in distributed and multi-zone designs. SpeakON NL4 connectors carry signal in and loop through to the next element, and the KK102 I anchors K-Array's popular Pinnacle KR402 II portable systems, where two Kobra columns pair with Thunder subwoofers and a Kommander amplifier. K-Array's rigging hardware — K-WALL2 wall brackets, K-PMOUNT pole adapters, K-FLY3 fly bars, K-KJUNCT1 joining plates, and dedicated KK102 floor bases, all sold separately — supports vertical and horizontal configurations for permanent or portable use. At 4.8 kg, a single installer can mount it, and IP65 sealing accessories prepare it for exterior or humid locations. Browse the complete lineup in the K-Array collection.

Key Features

  • Sixteen 2-Inch Neodymium Woofers — Closely spaced drivers across the full meter create true line source behavior with consistent intelligibility at distance.
  • Ultra-Slim 59 mm Profile — The narrowest full-length column in this class disappears against walls, columns, and proscenium edges.
  • 120° Horizontal Coverage — The widest horizontal pattern in K-Array's column range covers broad rooms with fewer loudspeaker positions.
  • Variable Beam Vertical Coverage — Adjustable 7°–35° vertical dispersion matches the beam to throw distance and seating depth without DSP steering.
  • Selectable 8/32-Ohm Impedance — Switchable impedance simplifies loading multiple elements on shared amplifier channels in distributed systems.
  • SpeakON NL4 In and Through — Loop-through wiring supports clean daisy-chained vertical or horizontal line array configurations.
  • Lightweight 4.8 kg Stainless Steel Build — The element installs quickly and rides easily in K-Array's Pinnacle portable system cases.
  • Pinnacle System Element — The KK102 I is the column at the heart of K-Array's Pinnacle KR402 II portable PA systems.
  • Black, White, or Custom RAL Finishes — Finish options align the element with architectural and interior design specifications.

Typical Applications

  • House of worship sanctuaries requiring intelligible, nearly invisible speech reinforcement
  • Conference rooms and boardrooms needing discreet column audio beside displays
  • Government spaces such as chambers and hearing rooms with strict aesthetic requirements
  • Multi-purpose rooms and training rooms using distributed or multi-zone column audio
  • Auditoriums deploying front fill and under-balcony fill from slim elements
  • Commercial meeting spaces and all-hands rooms with design-sensitive interiors

Frequently Asked Questions

What amplifier should power the Kobra KK102 I?

The KK102 I is passive with 400 W rated power and selectable 8/32-ohm impedance. K-Array recommends Kommander amplifiers, which ship with dedicated KK102 factory presets, but any professional amplifier with appropriate power and DSP can drive it. The 32-ohm setting allows several elements per amplifier channel in distributed designs.

Is connecting and rigging hardware included?

No. Connecting hardware is sold separately so each project specifies the correct K-Array accessories — K-WALL2 wall brackets, K-PMOUNT pole adapters, K-FLY3 fly bars, the K-KJUNCT1 joining plate for stacking two KK102 columns, or K-KBASEFL/K-KBASEFT floor bases. Creation Networks can help build the right rigging package for your design.

Does the KK102 I need a subwoofer?

For speech reinforcement, the KK102 I performs well on its own from 150 Hz. For program and music systems, K-Array recommends pairing it with Thunder or Rumble subwoofers, as in the Pinnacle KR402 II system that combines two KK102 columns with Thunder subwoofers.

How is the Kobra KK102 different from the Python KP102?

Both are one-meter variable beam columns, but the KK102 uses sixteen 2-inch drivers in a 59 mm-wide frame with 120° horizontal coverage and 126 dB peak output, while the Python KP102 I uses twelve 3.15-inch drivers for 134 dB and longer throw at 90° horizontal. Choose the Kobra for maximum discretion and wide coverage, the Python for higher output and reach.

Can the KK102 I be installed outdoors?

The stainless steel enclosure is built for durability, and optional IP65 sealing kits protect the SpeakON connections in exposed or high-humidity locations.

What warranty applies to this product?

K-Array provides a 5-year manufacturer warranty, supported by Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. See the full range in our K-Array collection.
