Product Overview

The K-Array Firenze KH7P I is a passive steerable line array speaker built for large venues, touring productions, and permanent installations where high output must come from a discreet footprint. This digitally steerable slim line array element delivers 148 dB peak SPL from a stainless steel enclosure only 200 mm deep, making it one of the most space-efficient large-format line array solutions available for commercial AV integration. Paired with K-array's Kommander-KA208LIVE amplifier operating in EBS-mode, the KH7P I adds Electronic Beam Steering to its mechanically adjustable horn coverage, so integrators can aim sound precisely at the audience and away from reflective surfaces. It is a strong fit for auditoriums, houses of worship, and large-venue line array installation projects that demand concert-grade output without visual intrusion.

Product Description

At the heart of the Firenze KH7P I are four coaxial 12-inch neodymium magnet drivers with 3-inch voice coils, each integrating a compression driver with a 2-inch voice coil. This coaxial straight-line array arrangement produces a coherent wavefront with even coverage throughout the venue and a frequency response of 90 Hz to 18 kHz (-6 dB) with the dedicated preset. Rated power handling is 4x 2500 W across four discrete 8-ohm channels, which maps directly to the four output channels of the recommended Kommander-KA208LIVE amplifier.

Coverage is mechanically configurable at 100° by 30° (or rotated to 30° by 100°), letting the same cabinet serve wide-audience throw or narrow corridor coverage depending on orientation. Because the KH7P I is passive, all DSP — including FIR-based digital beam steering, gain, delay, and parametric filtering — is handled in the partnering amplifier and managed remotely over Ethernet with K-array's PC software. The IP53-rated stainless steel chassis suits both indoor and weather-protected outdoor positions, and a full range of joining and rigging accessories supports vertical and horizontal cluster arrays for touring or fixed deployment. Key Features

  • 148 dB Peak Output — Four coaxial 12-inch neodymium drivers deliver concert-level SPL from a single slim cabinet, reducing the number of boxes required to cover large rooms.
  • Electronic Beam Steering Ready — When driven by the Kommander-KA208LIVE in EBS-mode, the array's vertical dispersion can be shaped digitally so coverage lands on seats instead of walls and ceilings.
  • Adjustable Mechanical Coverage — The 100° by 30° horn geometry can be oriented for wide or narrow emission, giving integrators two coverage patterns from one SKU.
  • Ultra-Slim Stainless Steel Enclosure — At 1170 x 350 x 200 mm, the cabinet blends into architecture and proscenium lines where conventional line arrays would dominate sightlines.
  • Four Discrete 8-Ohm Channels — Per-driver amplifier channels enable the individual transducer control required for true digital steering of the wavefront.
  • Remote Monitoring and Control — Dedicated PC software over Ethernet provides gain, delay, filtering, and level/temperature monitoring through the system amplifier.
  • IP53 Environmental Rating — Dust and spray protection allows installation in semi-exposed venue positions without additional weather housings.
  • Flexible Rigging System — Dedicated joining and hanging accessories support vertical line arrays and horizontal clusters for both touring and installed applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What amplifier does the Firenze KH7P I require?

K-array recommends the Kommander-KA208LIVE operating in EBS-mode. The KH7P I has no built-in DSP, so beam steering, presets, delay, and filtering are all executed in the amplifier, with the speaker connected via CA-COM IN and LINK ports.

How does beam steering work on a passive speaker?

Each of the four coaxial drivers is wired to a discrete 8-ohm amplifier channel. The KA208LIVE applies FIR filtering per channel to shape the vertical wavefront digitally, on top of the cabinet's mechanically selectable 100° by 30° horn coverage.

Can the KH7P I be arrayed in clusters?

Yes. K-array offers dedicated joining and rigging accessories for vertical line arrays and horizontal clusters, supporting both flown touring configurations and fixed installation mounting.

Is the KH7P I suitable for semi-outdoor installation?

The stainless steel enclosure carries an IP53 rating, protecting against dust and water spray. It is appropriate for covered outdoor and semi-exposed positions; fully exposed installations should be reviewed with our design team.

Does Creation Networks help with system design and integration?
