The JBL VTX B28 is a state-of-the-art dual 18-inch subwoofer engineered to deliver unparalleled low-frequency performance for the world’s most demanding sound reinforcement applications. Designed to seamlessly integrate with JBL’s flagship VTX full-range systems, the B28 offers professional-grade audio clarity, deep bass extension, and versatile deployment options for rental, AV, touring, and high-end fixed installations.
Equipped with JBL Differential Drive transducers and a large, double-flared port, the VTX B28 achieves extended low-frequency output while minimizing turbulence, ensuring clear, linear bass down to 25 Hz. The FEA-optimized enclosure, constructed from durable Finnish birch plywood with a Black DuraFlex™ finish, balances rugged touring durability with precise acoustical performance. Handling is made simple with four recessed handles, allowing for efficient transport and setup.
The VTX B28 offers both omnidirectional and cardioid deployment, giving engineers flexibility in creating customized sound coverage. Its simple two-point spring-loaded rigging system enables flown arrays of up to 16 enclosures, while three M20 pole mounts allow integration with A12, A8, and V20 base plates for secure ground-stacked configurations. The system is powered exclusively by Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers and fully integrates with JBL’s software ecosystem for precise system control.
Additional features such as front and rear NL4 connectors, acoustical compatibility with all VTX full-range products, and a wide array of optional accessories make the VTX B28 a complete solution for high-output low-frequency reinforcement.
