The JBL VTX A8 SB Suspension Bar is a versatile, lightweight rigging accessory designed to enhance the flexibility and deployment options of JBL’s VTX A8 and B18 systems. Built from high-grade steel with an anti-corrosion coating, the A8 SB can function as both an array frame and a pull-back accessory, giving professionals the tools needed to optimize array performance in a variety of applications.
When used as a pull-back device, the VTX A8 SB attaches to the bottom cabinet of an array and connects to a rear suspension point, enabling additional down-tilt angles beyond what is achievable with the A8 AF alone. For compact setups, the A8 SB can be mounted directly to the top cabinet of an array, acting as a lightweight array frame. In this configuration, the down-tilt angle is determined by the number of cabinets and overall array geometry. JBL’s Line Array Calculator (LAC) software supports precise system modeling, ensuring accurate deployment.
For even greater flexibility, dual suspension bars can be implemented simultaneously—one at the top and one at the bottom of the array—providing enhanced aiming and rigging stability. The A8 SB supports up to 24 VTX A8 enclosures or 16 VTX B18 subwoofers, making it a reliable solution for both large-scale and compact sound reinforcement setups. Each unit comes with a 5/8-inch shackle for immediate use.
