The JBL Professional Intellivox-DSX280HD is an advanced self-powered, beam-shaping column loudspeaker array designed to deliver exceptional speech intelligibility and musical clarity in acoustically challenging spaces. Compact yet powerful, this system extends coverage up to 35 meters with a constant sound pressure level, making it ideal for venues where clear, intelligible audio is critical.
At its core, the DSX280HD features twelve custom-engineered 4" loudspeakers and four independently driven 1" horn-loaded dome tweeters. These are powered by a 16-channel Class-D amplifier with a sophisticated switched-mode power supply, ensuring consistent, reliable performance. Its high-frequency beam control, enabled by individually driven tweeters, enhances horizontal dispersion while preserving clarity for both speech and music applications.
With integrated 32-bit floating-point DSP, the DSX280HD supports vertical beam shaping via DDS technology, volume control, delay (up to 20 seconds), and 8-band parametric EQ. The system also includes eight user-definable presets, accessible via third-party control devices, along with Automatic Volume Control (AVC) using the built-in ambient microphone. Advanced network-ready control is provided through JBL’s WinControl software, allowing precise beam steering, audio adjustments, and surveillance monitoring.
Designed for reliability, the DSX280HD incorporates integral system surveillance features to meet the requirements of voice alarm and life safety applications. Its slim, unobtrusive design integrates seamlessly into architecturally sensitive spaces, while the frequency range can be extended with JBL subwoofers for full-range sound reinforcement.
