The JBL HPD8138 is an 8-inch (200 mm) full-range in-ceiling loudspeaker designed for use with a pre-install backcan, delivering high-fidelity commercial sound at a cost-effective price point. A dual-cone driver and very high 97 dB sensitivity make this distributed-audio ceiling speaker efficient on 70V/100V lines, ideal for restaurants, retail, professional offices, and reception areas. A 6W multi-tap transformer connects it to 70V or 100V distributed systems. This listing is for the HPD8138 sold individually within a 4-unit pack.
Product Description
The HPD8138 uses a 200 mm (8 in) full-range dual-cone driver with a very high 97 dB sensitivity to produce clear, efficient output across a 95 Hz to 18 kHz range (-10 dB) and a 90-degree conical coverage pattern. Its 6W multi-tap transformer offers selectable taps of 6W, 3W, and 1.5W (plus 0.75W at 70V only) for 70V/100V distributed lines, reaching a maximum SPL of 105 dB on the top tap. The speaker mounts to in-ceiling backboxes with four points on an industry-standard 286 mm (11.25 in) mounting circle and is intended for use with the MTC-81BB8 backcan and MTC-81TB8 tile bridge, which also enable plenum-rated installation.
