Product Overview
The INOGENI SHARE2 is a dual HDMI/DVI to USB 3.1 Gen 1 video capture device and camera mixer designed for conference rooms, HyFlex classrooms, and collaborative meeting environments. It accepts two HDMI or DVI video sources and combines them into a single USB 3.0 output stream — picture-in-picture or side-by-side — presenting as one USB camera to any UVC-compliant soft codec. As a driver-free dual HDMI USB 3.0 capture device, the SHARE2 is compatible with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, Google Meet, and all major videoconferencing platforms. Note: Inogeni has announced an end-of-life date of August 31, 2026 for the SHARE2; the SHARE2U remains the current supported model with continued firmware development.
Product Description
The SHARE2 addresses the common AV integration challenge of presenting two HDMI or DVI video sources through a single USB camera interface to a soft codec. Integrators connect two HDMI cameras, PTZ heads, or other HDMI sources, and the SHARE2 composites them into a single 1080p60 USB 3.0 stream using one of 14 selectable mix layout presets. VGA and CVBS sources are also supported via adapters, extending compatibility to legacy AV equipment in retrofit installations. Inogeni’s Digital Fluid technology uses internal frame buffers to maximize frame rates with any host, while hardware-based color space conversion, automatic scaling, and frame rate conversion handle source format differences transparently. Control is available via LAN (DHCP or static IP), RS-232, and the front-panel keypad, with Crestron Serial and IP modules available for integration into larger control systems. The optional INOGENI REMOTE keypad enables presenter-side switching without accessing the main unit. Audio is handled via unbalanced stereo line-level connections, with audio routing configurable through the INOGENI Control App. The SHARE2 is compatible with Q-SYS Core processors and Barco ClickShare Conference (CX-20, CX-30, CX-50), and supports multiple units on the same host for multi-room or multi-feed installations. The unit ships with mounting brackets for flexible installation. Designed and manufactured in Canada with a 5-year warranty for units purchased after August 1, 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the end-of-life status of the SHARE2?
A: Inogeni has announced an end-of-life date of August 31, 2026 for the SHARE2. The product continues to be sold and supported until that date. The SHARE2U is the current replacement model, with continued firmware development and expanded input options (USB cameras in addition to HDMI).
Q: What is the difference between the SHARE2 and the SHARE2U?
A: The SHARE2 accepts two HDMI or DVI inputs only. The SHARE2U adds USB 2.0 camera inputs, PTZ control over USB, and USB HID control, making it the more versatile and current option. The SHARE2U also receives ongoing firmware updates; the SHARE2 does not.
Q: Does the SHARE2 require driver installation?
A: No. The SHARE2 is a UVC-compliant device and is recognized as a standard USB camera by Windows, macOS, and Linux without any driver installation.
Q: Can the SHARE2 accept VGA or composite video sources?
A: Yes, with adapters. VGA and CVBS (composite) sources can be connected to the SHARE2’s HDMI inputs using appropriate signal adapters, extending compatibility to legacy cameras and equipment in retrofit installations.
Q: How are mix layouts changed during a presentation?
A: The front-panel keypad allows switching between any of 14 mix layout presets (picture-in-picture and side-by-side configurations) without interrupting the active video feed. The optional INOGENI REMOTE keypad enables the same control from a distance.
Q: Is the SHARE2 compatible with Q-SYS and Barco ClickShare?
A: Yes. The SHARE2 is compatible with Q-SYS Core processors via an INOGENI plugin for Q-SYS Designer software. It is also compatible with Barco ClickShare Conference (CX-20, CX-30, and CX-50).
Q: What is the warranty on the SHARE2?
A: Units purchased by the end user after August 1, 2024 carry a 5-year warranty. Units purchased before that date carry a 2-year warranty.
