The R1C combines a 4th generation coaxial tweeter and midrange assembly with two 5.25-inch carbon fiber/Rohacell woofers, handling 5 to 150 watts RMS with a 70Hz-30kHz frequency response and 90dB sensitivity (2.83V/1m). At 13.78 by 13.78 by 7.56 inches with a 12.375-inch round cutout, it requires a deeper ceiling cavity than a standard in-ceiling speaker, and the integrated enclosure is designed to reduce sound disturbance into adjoining rooms. As part of the Sonance Reference Series, the R1C is designed to fit standard ceiling cavities and can be mixed and matched with the R1CSUR surround and other Reference models, and it pairs with Sonance DSP amplifiers for custom-tuned performance. Integrators specifying overhead or front-channel in-ceiling speaker placement commonly select the R1C for its low-profile grille and Reference Series driver platform.
