Product Overview
The BSS BLU-100 is a 1U rack-mount Soundweb London signal processor with a fixed configuration of 12 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs, configurable DSP, and a 48-channel BLU link digital audio bus. It is designed for commercial AV installations that require a defined mic/line input count with structured output routing—including conference rooms, training rooms, and auditoriums. The BLU-100 integrates directly with the broader Soundweb London ecosystem and is configured via HiQnet Audio Architect, which provides drag-and-drop processing objects and third-party control system documentation. Its 400 MHz signal processor supports a full library of DSP objects for mixing, equalization, dynamics, and routing within a single 1U chassis.
Product Description
The BSS BLU-100 delivers a fixed 12-in/8-out analog architecture with configurable DSP for small to medium commercial AV installations. The 12 analog inputs provide software-configurable gain in 6 dB steps up to +48 dB per channel, with software-selectable 48V phantom power per channel for condenser microphone connections. Signal Present and Clip LEDs on the front panel give at-a-glance channel status without requiring a connected laptop, and a bi-directional locate function simplifies identification of the device within HiQnet Audio Architect during commissioning.
The BLU-100 connects to the Soundweb London BLU link digital audio bus at 48 channels, which maps to channels 1–48 of the larger 256-channel bus when the BLU-100 is deployed alongside BLU-800, BLU-320, BLU-160, BLU-120, or BLU-BOB devices. Up to 60 BLU link-compatible devices can share channels on a single bus, and fiber media converters extend BLU link runs beyond 40 km for large campus deployments. The 400 MHz DSP engine runs a library of processing objects including mixers, equalizers, compressors, gates, delays, and feedback suppressors that are placed and wired in the Audio Architect canvas.
Twelve control inputs and six logic outputs provide GPIO connectivity for integration with room control processors, wall panels, and external switching equipment. The RS-232 port enables serial control from legacy or serial-native control platforms. The Soundweb London Interface Kit—included with HiQnet Audio Architect—provides protocol documentation and ready-made modules for AMX, Crestron, and other control system platforms. The BLU-100 is available from Creation Networks at https://creationnetworks.net.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What DSP functions are available in the BLU-100?
A: The BLU-100’s 400 MHz DSP engine runs the full Soundweb London processing object library within HiQnet Audio Architect. Available objects include mixers, parametric and graphic equalizers, compressors, gates, limiters, delays, feedback suppressors, AEC (when used with compatible AEC input cards on connected expanders), and signal routing matrices. Objects are placed and wired in the Audio Architect design canvas.
Q: Can the BLU-100 share channels with other Soundweb London devices on BLU link?
A: Yes. The BLU-100 occupies channels 1–48 of the Soundweb London BLU link bus. When connected to BLU-800, BLU-320, BLU-160, BLU-120, or BLU-BOB devices on the same bus, all devices share the full 256-channel transport layer. Up to 60 BLU link-compatible devices can be connected on a single bus.
Q: Does the BLU-100 support Dante or AES67?
A: No. The BLU-100 uses BLU link for digital audio transport and does not include Dante or AES67 connectivity. For installations requiring Dante integration, the BSS BLU-326DA includes both BLU link and Dante / AES67 with primary and secondary Dante ports.
Q: How is phantom power managed on the BLU-100?
A: Phantom power is software-selectable per channel in HiQnet Audio Architect. The front panel provides a per-channel LED for visual confirmation of phantom power status without requiring a laptop connection during system commissioning or troubleshooting.
Q: Is the BLU-100 compatible with AMX and Crestron control systems?
A: Yes. The Soundweb London Interface Kit, installed with HiQnet Audio Architect, provides protocol documentation and control modules for AMX, Crestron, and other third-party platforms. The BLU-100 also has an RS-232 port for direct serial control.
Q: What is the maximum BLU link run distance for the BLU-100?
A: BLU link operates over Cat 5e at up to 100 m per segment. Fiber media converters extend individual segments beyond 40 km. The BLU-100 supports the same BLU link distances as other Soundweb London family devices.
Q: Where can I order the BSS BLU-100 and get design support?
A: The BSS BLU-100 (SKU: BSSBLU100M) is available from Creation Networks at https://creationnetworks.net. The team can assist with system design, integration planning, and compatibility questions for Soundweb London installations.
