The NETGEAR GS308EPP is an eight-port Gigabit Ethernet Plus (smart-managed) switch with eight 802.3at PoE+ ports and a 123W power budget. The higher budget over the GS308EP supports denser PoE+ loads such as multiple Wi-Fi 6 access points or PTZ cameras. It combines VLAN, QoS, and IGMP snooping with plug-and-play setup and a fanless silent design. All management runs through a browser-based GUI.
Product Description
The GS308EPP 8-port Gigabit PoE+ Plus switch delivers 123W of Power over Ethernet headroom across eight Gigabit ports, each capable of 802.3at PoE+ at up to 30W. That budget is enough to fully power several high-draw access points or cameras from a single device, which is useful when consolidating edge power in a meeting room or signage cluster. Like the GS308EP, it adds smart-managed features including IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, 802.1p and DSCP QoS, IGMP snooping, port mirroring, and rate limiting, all through a business-friendly web GUI. Uninterrupted PoE maintains power to connected devices through firmware updates and reboots.
The fanless metal chassis operates at 0 dBA and mounts on a desktop or wall, keeping it unobtrusive in conference rooms and AV equipment areas. Non-blocking switching provides 16 Gbps of fabric bandwidth with a 4K MAC address table for larger device counts. QoS rules prioritize voice and video traffic over best-effort data, an important consideration for converged AV-over-IP networks. The GS308EPP works well as part of a standardized rollout drawn from the NETGEAR switch collection. Per-port PoE scheduling and cable diagnostics aid both deployment and ongoing maintenance.
