Product Overview
The Facilis HUB 32 512TB is an 8U rack-mount shared video storage server combining a 4U base unit with a 4U external expansion enclosure as a single unified file system. Unlike a standard NAS, it functions as a true SAN with automatic load balancing across Fibre Channel and Ethernet interfaces, ensuring that all connected workstations can read and write simultaneously without creating a bottleneck at a single connection point. The 32-drive array sustains approximately 3.5 GB/sec of aggregate throughput for the demanding requirements of multi-suite post-production and broadcast environments. FastTracker MAM with unlimited seats and Facilis Web Console are included at no additional cost.
Product Description
![]()
The Facilis HUB 32 512TB is designed for facilities that operate multiple concurrent editorial, color, and finishing workflows and need a storage architecture that can serve all of them simultaneously from a single managed pool. The 4U base chassis houses 16 HDDs on an internal 12Gb SAS controller; the 4U external expansion enclosure contributes an additional 16 HDDs on a second 12Gb SAS controller. Both are presented as one continuous shared file system, with no manual pooling or volume federation required.
The dual connectivity model accommodates mixed-fabric facilities: dual-port 16/32/64Gb Fibre Channel serves dedicated FC clients such as online finishing suites, while dual-port 10/25/40/50/100 GbE handles IP-connected workstations and review machines over a managed switch. Load balancing operates automatically across all active paths, making it possible to add or remove clients without rebalancing storage manually.
Both chassis use n+1 redundant 600W power supplies, ensuring that no single power supply failure interrupts production. Wide-input 100–240 VAC auto-switching means the system deploys in virtually any facility without power conversion equipment. The 5°C–30°C non-condensing operating range covers standard controlled equipment spaces.
At 512TB, this configuration suits facilities that archive completed projects alongside active working media, removing the need for disruptive archive-and-restore workflows between projects. FastTracker MAM tracks, tags, and makes searchable every asset in the full 512TB pool, and Web Console provides the administrative tools to manage hundreds of volumes and user permissions from a browser on any networked machine.
Key Features
- True SAN architecture — Operates as a Storage Area Network with automatic load balancing across multiple server IP addresses and Fibre Channel interfaces, not a single-path NAS.
- 32-drive configuration across two chassis — 16 HDDs on an internal 12Gb SAS controller plus 16 HDDs on an external 12Gb SAS controller, forming one unified file system.
- High-speed dual connectivity — Dual-port 16/32/64Gb Fibre Channel and dual-port 10/25/40/50/100 GbE for flexible Fibre Channel and IP client connections within the same facility.
- Redundant power supplies — Two 600W n+1 power supplies per chassis with 100–240 VAC auto-switching guard against power supply failure in production environments.
- Approximately 3.5 GB/sec sustained throughput — Supports multi-stream 4K and high-frame-rate workflows across concurrent connected editorial, color, and finishing stations.
- FastTracker MAM – unlimited seats included — Asset management, proxy creation, transcription, and AI tagging for all workstations at no incremental per-seat licensing cost.
- Facilis Web Console included — Browser-based administration for volume management, user permissions, and system monitoring across the full storage pool.
- Scalable HUB 32 platform — Spans 128TB to 960TB; the 512TB configuration can be upgraded within the same product line as facility needs expand.
