Product Description

The Extron PowerCage 411 is a compact 1U, four-slot modular power enclosure that powers, manages, and mounts up to four Extron FOX3 Series fiber optic extender boards in a single rack space. As a centralized PowerCage enclosure for FOX3 fiber optic extenders, it removes the need for individual power supplies and consolidates transmitters and receivers into one managed chassis, simplifying integration for matrix-switched systems and multi-device workstations. Dual redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and active thermal management support continuous 24/7 operation in mission-critical commercial AV installations.

The modular, field-upgradeable design lets an integrator add, replace, or upgrade FOX3 boards at any time without powering down the system, and unpopulated slots provide room for future growth without additional rack space. A mixture of FOX3 transmitter and receiver boards can be installed to distribute signals to and from equipment racks, sources, and displays. Independent board power control allows each of the four slots to be powered on or off remotely, which streamlines maintenance and commissioning.

The PowerCage 411 provides local and remote management through a front-panel USB configuration port, a front-panel LCD display with real-time status indicators, a rear-panel RS-232 serial port, and an Ethernet control port with SNMP monitoring and secure SSH communication. Front-to-rear airflow with variable-speed fans keeps noise low while cooling each module. Housed in a 1U enclosure, it mounts in a rack, lectern, or under a desk and is well suited to command-and-control rooms, broadcast facilities, and large campus deployments.
