Product Overview
The DBX ZC-BOB (Break-Out Box) is a passive wiring hub for dbx ZonePRO and DriveRack zone controller installations, allowing up to six ZC-series wall controllers to be wired in a parallel home-run topology from a single RJ-45 output on the processor. This eliminates the wiring distance and controller count limitations of series (daisy-chain) wiring, extending system reach up to 1000 feet when used with CAT5 or CAT5E cable.
Product Description
In large distributed audio installations, the standard series (daisy-chain) ZC controller wiring topology imposes limits on total cable run length and the number of controllers that can be connected per zone. The DBX ZC-BOB solves this by converting a single RJ-45 output from the ZonePRO or DriveRack processor into six parallel outputs, each feeding an independent home-run cable to a separate wall controller. Parallel wiring with the ZC-BOB allows up to six controllers at distances up to 1000 feet from the processor, compared to 300 feet maximum in a 6-controller series configuration. The ZC-BOB mounts in a standard electrical box or rack panel, simplifying the installation of multi-room or multi-zone AV systems. All ZC wall controller models are compatible.
