Product Overview

The DBX dB10 is a passive transformer-isolated direct box that uses the same custom mu-metal-shielded transformer as the active dB12, delivering clean signal conversion from high-impedance instrument sources to a balanced XLR output without requiring any power source. The dB10 passive direct injection box is well-suited for connecting electric guitars, basses, and keyboards to mixing consoles and stage boxes in applications where simplicity and reliability are the priority.

Product Description

Passive direct boxes are favored in many live sound and studio applications for their signal path simplicity - no battery to fail, no phantom power dependency, and no added circuitry that could introduce noise or coloration. The DBX dB10 achieves this with a custom-wound mu-metal-shielded transformer that provides galvanic isolation between input and output, breaking ground loops and eliminating hum without the need for a ground lift switch. The cast metal chassis matches the dB12 for a stackable form factor, allowing multiple dB10 units to be organized neatly in a road case or on stage. A 20dB pad accommodates both instrument and line-level inputs, and the parallel 1/4" thru jack maintains the instrument's connection to an amplifier while the DI signal feeds the console. Available at Creation Networks.
