Product Overview
The Crestron SFP-1G-BX-U is a 1000BASE-BX BiDirectional (BiDi) SFP fiber transceiver that transmits at 1310nm and receives at 1490nm, enabling full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet over a single strand of singlemode fiber rather than the two fiber strands (duplex) required by standard SFP-1G-LX transceivers. The “U” designation indicates the upstream (lower-wavelength transmit) direction — paired with a downstream SFP-1G-BX-D transceiver at the far end to create a complete BiDi single-fiber Gigabit link. Used in commercial AV-over-IP deployments where existing singlemode fiber infrastructure provides only a single fiber strand between switch locations.
