Product Overview
The Crestron SFP-1G-BX-D is the downstream counterpart to the SFP-1G-BX-U — a 1000BASE-BX BiDirectional (BiDi) SFP fiber transceiver transmitting at 1490nm and receiving at 1310nm, enabling full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet over a single strand of singlemode fiber. Installed at the far end of a BiDi single-fiber Gigabit link from the SFP-1G-BX-U, it completes the wavelength-division duplex pair that allows one fiber strand to carry both transmit and receive simultaneously in a Crestron AV-over-IP or network uplink application.
Product Description
BiDi (Bidirectional) SFP transceivers use wavelength-division multiplexing to send and receive on a single fiber strand simultaneously — one wavelength travels in each direction on the same fiber. The SFP-1G-BX-D transmits at 1490nm and receives at 1310nm, the complement of the SFP-1G-BX-U (1310nm TX / 1490nm RX). One BX-U and one BX-D are required per single-fiber Gigabit link. This is the downstream transceiver — installed at the downstream end of the BiDi fiber link (typically at the edge switch or remote device end), while the BX-U is installed at the upstream end (typically at the core or aggregation switch). Specify in pairs: one SFP-1G-BX-U and one SFP-1G-BX-D per single-fiber Gigabit Ethernet connection.

Can I use two SFP-1G-BX-D transceivers together?
No — BiDi links require one BX-U (1310nm TX / 1490nm RX) at one end and one BX-D (1490nm TX / 1310nm RX) at the other. Using two of the same BiDi transceiver type will not establish a link.
