Product Overview
The Crestron HZ2-SWEX-BR-BRASS is a Horizon 2 in-wall relay-based switch with infiNET EX wireless communication, finished in Brushed Brass metal with custom laser engraving. It controls incandescent, magnetic low voltage, tungsten-halogen, electronic ballast, and 1/2 HP motor loads up to 10 A with full on/off switching — not dimming — over the infiNET EX 2.4 GHz mesh network.
Product Description
The HZ2-SWEX provides switched on/off control for loads that should not be dimmed, including motor loads up to 1/2 HP and electronic ballast fixtures. The Brushed Brass finish with custom engraving is specified for premium installations where device labels are required and the interior design calls for warm metal hardware tones. Unlike the dimmer variants in the HZ2 series, the HZ2-SWEX does not include an airgap switch. Nine programmable buttons with RGB LED backlights provide local scene or function control, and the Remote terminal supports up to four HZ2-AUX or HZ2-KPEX companion devices. An HZ2-FP-G faceplate (sold separately) and neutral wire are required. For ordering, visit creationnetworks.net.

- Can the HZ2-SWEX be used to control a ceiling fan?
- The HZ2-SWEX can switch a ceiling fan motor load up to 1/2 HP. It provides on/off control only; variable fan speed requires a dedicated fan speed controller.
- Why does this switch not have an airgap switch?
- The airgap switch on HZ2 dimmers and keypads allows the load circuit to be interrupted during lamp maintenance without cutting power to the device. Crestron does not include an airgap on the HZ2-SWEX; consult local electrical code for maintenance disconnect requirements.
- Is this device compatible with LED loads?
- Yes, for on/off switching only. The HZ2-SWEX is a relay switch and does not attempt to phase-dim the load, making it safe for any load type including LED fixtures that are not compatible with phase dimmers.
