Product Overview

The Crestron HZ2-KPCN-DRK-BRZ is a Horizon 2 in-wall wired Cresnet keypad with nine programmable push buttons, finished in Dark Bronze metal. It connects to the Crestron control system via the Cresnet wired bus and draws its power directly from the bus, requiring no line voltage or neutral wire at the electrical box.

Product Description

Unlike the infiNET EX (KPEX) variants, the HZ2-KPCN communicates over the Cresnet wired network, drawing 2 W (83 mA at 24 VDC) from the bus. Two 4-pin Cresnet terminal blocks support daisy-chain wiring, and two digital/analog input ports (0–24 VDC digital, 0–10 VDC analog) allow external sensor connections for occupancy, temperature, or contact closure inputs. All nine buttons are programmable through the Crestron control system for scene, AV source, and system commands. The Dark Bronze metal finish coordinates with the full Horizon 2 lineup in premium installations. The HZ2-KPCN does not include an airgap switch. Faceplate sold separately (included with textured models; HZ2-KPCN-WMKT required for EU boxes). For ordering and project support, visit creationnetworks.net.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the key difference between the HZ2-KPCN and HZ2-KPEX?
The HZ2-KPCN uses Cresnet wired communication and is powered by the Cresnet bus (no line voltage needed). The HZ2-KPEX uses infiNET EX wireless and requires 120 VAC line and neutral at the box. The -CN also has two analog/digital input ports and a much shallower depth (0.71 in. vs. 1.83 in.), while the -EX includes an airgap switch and a Remote terminal for multi-location traveler wiring.
Does the HZ2-KPCN require a dedicated power supply?
No. It draws power from the Cresnet bus at 2 W (83 mA @ 24 VDC). No separate line-voltage connection is needed at the wall box location.
Can the sensor input ports accept a dry-contact closure?
Yes. The digital input ports accept 0–24 VDC logic signals, and can read a dry-contact switch using the built-in programmable 3V pull-up resistor. Consult the HZ2-KPCN product documentation for wiring details.
