Universal phase dimming supports forward and reverse phase operation, making this device compatible with LED, CFL, incandescent, halogen, magnetic low-voltage (MLV), and electronic low-voltage (ELV) loads on a single platform. Designed for integration with Crestron Home and full Crestron control systems, this single-gang device communicates wirelessly over a 2.4 GHz infiNET EX mesh network. Custom engraving is included at no additional cost.

The HZ2-DIMUEX-BR-BRASS-ENGRAVED is the universal-phase variant in the Horizon 2 lineup, offering the widest load compatibility of the HZ2 dimmer family. Both forward-phase (TRIAC) and reverse-phase (ELV) dimming modes are supported, allowing a single SKU to address the majority of dimming load types encountered in commercial and residential projects. Load ratings of 0-300W for LED/CFL, 0-600W for incandescent/halogen, 0-400W for MLV, and 0-400W for ELV are supported at 120VAC. The Brushed Brass finish makes this device appropriate for premium architectural environments, boutique hospitality, and executive spaces where standard hardware finishes are not acceptable. Button caps are custom laser-engraved per order. A neutral wire is required. Communication is via infiNET EX 2.4 GHz wireless mesh, and an infiNET EX gateway must be present on the Crestron network.

The DIMU supports both forward-phase and reverse-phase dimming modes, making it compatible with a broader range of load types including ELV and MLV transformers as well as most LED drivers. The DIM variant supports forward-phase (TRIAC) dimming only, which works with incandescent, halogen, and many LED loads, but not ELV or MLV. For mixed-load projects or where load types are not yet finalized, the DIMU is the more versatile choice.

Does this device work at 277VAC for commercial fluorescent or LED systems?
No. The HZ2-DIMUEX operates at 120VAC only. For 277VAC applications with 0-10V LED drivers or ballasts, the HZ2-DIMLVEX variant (0-10V dimmer) supports 120/277VAC operation and is the correct selection.
