Product Overview
The Crestron GLS-LCCT SolarSync is an outdoor daylight and correlated color temperature (CCT) sensor designed for integration with Crestron lighting control systems. It measures both light intensity (0-100,000 lux) and color temperature (2,000K-25,000K) using multi-spectral sensing technology, enabling Crestron systems to automatically adjust tunable white lighting fixtures to match natural daylight conditions throughout the day. It is intended for rooftop, exterior wall, or skylight-adjacent installations.
Product Description
The GLS-LCCT communicates via Cresnet slave mode and connects to the Crestron system with a 3 ft attached cable with four flying leads. Its 360° semispherical field of view captures ambient light from the full overhead hemisphere, providing accurate measurements regardless of sun position. The IP67 rating ensures protection from dust ingress and submersion, making it suitable for exposed outdoor mounting in all weather conditions. A PTFE housing with acrylic diffused dome provides UV and chemical resistance. Mounting is via a 1/2 in. conduit knockout to a standard j-box or enclosure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does the GLS-LCCT differ from a standard photosensor?
A: Unlike standard photosensors that only measure light intensity (lux), the GLS-LCCT also measures correlated color temperature (CCT). This allows Crestron to adjust both the brightness and the color temperature of tunable white fixtures simultaneously to match outdoor daylight conditions.
Q: Does the GLS-LCCT require an outdoor-rated enclosure?
A: The GLS-LCCT is IP67 rated and is itself weatherproof. It mounts via a standard 1/2 in. conduit knockout to a j-box or enclosure. The j-box used for mounting should be appropriately rated for outdoor installation.
Q: What Crestron programming is needed to use the GLS-LCCT with tunable white fixtures?
A: The GLS-LCCT sends lux and CCT data via Cresnet to a Crestron processor. Programming to translate those readings into control signals for specific tunable white fixtures depends on the system configuration. Crestron provides programming modules and documentation for common lighting control scenarios.
