Product Overview

The Crestron DM-NVX-E20-2G-W-T is an AV-over-IP wall plate encoder that transports 4K60 4:2:0 and 4K30 4:4:4 video over standard Gigabit Ethernet with no perceptible latency. Finished in white textured, it mounts into a 2-gang U.S. electrical box and pairs with DM-NVX decoders for secure, scalable content distribution. The encoder supports HDCP 2.3, AES-128 content encryption, and enterprise-grade network security. PoE power and copper Ethernet connectivity simplify installation in conference rooms, classrooms, and campus-wide systems.

Product Description

The DM-NVX-E20-2G provides one HDMI input and an unbalanced stereo analog audio input, transmitting encoded AV over a 1000BASE-T Ethernet network to one or many decoders such as the DM-NVX-D20 or DM-NVX-D200. Bit rate can be set to a fixed value from 200 to 950 Mbps or to an adaptive rate that adjusts automatically based on input resolution. The encoder supports 7.1 surround sound transport, AES67 audio embedding and de-embedding, and CEC-based source control. Automatic point-to-point connectivity lets the encoder connect directly to a compatible decoder without an Ethernet switch. Enterprise-grade security features include 802.1X authentication, Active Directory credential management, AES-128 encryption, PKI, TLS, SSH, and HTTPS. Setup is performed through a web browser, and full management is available through a control system or a DM NVX Director virtual switching appliance. The wall plate is powered via PoE or an optional PW-2407WUL power pack and requires an FP-G2-DM Series faceplate, sold separately. The minimum cable for DM NVX over copper is unshielded CAT5e, and a nonblocking network is required.

Key Features

  • 4K60 4:2:0 AV-over-IP — Encodes video up to 4K60 4:2:0 and 4K30 4:4:4 over standard Gigabit Ethernet.
  • HDMI and Analog Audio Inputs — Provides one HDMI input plus an unbalanced stereo line-level audio input for embedding.
  • Fixed or Adaptive Bit Rate — Sets a constant rate from 200 to 950 Mbps or adapts automatically to input resolution.
  • Enterprise-Grade Security — Includes 802.1X, Active Directory, AES-128 encryption, PKI, TLS, and HTTPS.
  • AES67 Audio — Supports AES67 audio embedding and de-embedding alongside 7.1 surround sound transport.
  • Point-to-Point Mode — Connects directly to a DM-NVX-D20 or DM-NVX-D200 without a network switch.
  • PoE Powered — Operates via IEEE 802.3af PoE or an optional power pack.
  • Director and XiO Cloud — Managed through DM NVX Director appliances and the XiO Cloud service.

Typical Applications

  • Conference Rooms — Encodes a wall-mounted HDMI source for distribution to networked displays.
  • Classrooms and Lecture Capture — Streams real-time 4K video across a campus network.
  • Digital Signage — Delivers line-synchronized content to multiple displays for synchronized playback.
  • Enterprise AV Distribution — Scales as part of a virtual matrix managed by DM NVX Director.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which decoders is the DM-NVX-E20-2G compatible with?
It works with the DM-NVX-D20, DM-NVX-D200, and other DM NVX products that can function as decoders. Crestron recommends not pairing it with the DM-NVX-D10 to preserve higher resolutions.

Is a faceplate included?
No. An FP-G2-DM Series decorator-style faceplate is required and sold separately. The encoder mounts into a 2-gang U.S. electrical box or plaster ring (not included).

How is it powered?
The encoder is powered via an IEEE 802.3af PoE-compliant Ethernet switch or the optional PW-2407WUL power pack.

What network is required?
DM NVX requires a nonblocking 1000BASE-T network with a minimum of unshielded CAT5e cabling. Refer to the Crestron DM NVX System Design Guide for switch requirements.

What warranty and support apply?
This product carries the Crestron 3-year limited warranty. For design and purchasing assistance, Contact Creation Networks.
