Crestron DM-NVX-363 – DM NVX 4K60 4:4:4 HDR Network AV Encoder/Decoder with Downmixing and Dante Audio

Crestron DM-NVX-363 4K60 4:4:4 HDR AV-over-IP encoder decoder Dante audio downmixing enterprise AV

Product Overview

The Crestron DM-NVX-363 is the Dante-enabled, downmixing variant of the DM-NVX-360 — a 4K60 4:4:4 HDR dual-role AV-over-IP encoder/decoder with native Dante audio networking, surround-to-stereo downmixing, and all the capabilities of the DM-NVX-360 including HDR10/HDR10+/Dolby Vision, built-in scaling, video wall processing, USB/KVM routing, and optional fiber connectivity. It is the correct specification for enterprise AV systems that combine DM NVX video distribution with a Dante/AES67 audio network — bridging the video and audio IP layers at a single endpoint device.

Product Description

The DM-NVX-363 is identical to the DM-NVX-360 in video capabilities — 4K60 4:4:4, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDCP 2.3, built-in scaler, video wall processing up to 8×8, dynamic text overlay, USB 2.0 and KVM routing, RS-232/IR/CEC device control, Pixel Perfect Processing, enterprise security (802.1X, Active Directory, AES-128, TLS, SSH, HTTPS), PoE+, and optional SFP fiber — with two key additions: native Dante audio networking and on-board surround-to-stereo downmixing.

The integrated Dante audio port operates at 24-bit 48kHz, enabling audio from the HDMI source to be routed as Dante audio to DSPs, amplifiers, and other Dante endpoints on the network, and conversely, Dante audio from the network to be embedded into the HDMI output at the decoder end. The on-board downmixing engine converts encoded HBR 7.1 surround sound (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS HD, DTS:X) to stereo for Dante transmission — eliminating a separate DSP downmix processing step in installations where surround sources must be distributed to stereo Dante audio endpoints. This makes the DM-NVX-363 the natural endpoint choice for university campuses, corporate headquarters, and performing arts facilities that have deployed both DM NVX for video and Dante for audio as their unified AV-over-IP infrastructure.

Key Features

  • Native Dante Audio Networking (24-bit 48kHz): Integrated Dante audio port routes HDMI-embedded audio to and from the Dante network — bridges DM NVX video distribution with facility Dante audio infrastructure at the endpoint.
  • 7.1 Surround-to-Stereo Downmixing: On-board downmixing converts HBR 7.1 surround (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS HD, DTS:X, linear PCM) to stereo for Dante transmission — no external DSP required for downmix.
  • 4K60 4:4:4 HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision: Full DM-NVX-360 video capability including the broadest HDR format support in the DM NVX line.
  • Software-Configurable Encoder or Decoder: Single SKU, set as encoder or decoder via web interface or control system.
  • Built-in 4K60 4:4:4 Scaler and Video Wall Processing: Up to 8×8 (64-display) video wall; zoom and bezel compensation per endpoint.
  • USB 2.0 and KVM Routing: USB 2.0 host/device extension and KVM switching alongside video.
  • Enterprise Security: 802.1X, Active Directory, AES-128, TLS, SSH, SFTP, HTTPS.
  • PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, 25.5W): Single-cable power from any compliant switch.
  • Copper and Fiber Ethernet: RJ45 1GbE + optional SFP fiber (SFP-1G series, sold separately).
  • AES67 Also Supported: AES67 transmit and receive alongside native Dante for AES67-only infrastructure.
  • Card Version: DM-NVX-363C for DMF-CI-8 chassis high-density installations.

Typical Applications

  • University campus deployments combining DM NVX 4K video over IP with Dante audio over IP as a unified AV-over-IP infrastructure
  • Corporate headquarters AV systems with Dante audio networks requiring 4K video endpoints that bridge to the Dante audio layer
  • Performing arts and event venues distributing 4K video alongside a Dante audio production network from stage to remote viewing positions
  • Broadcast and recording facilities with Dante infrastructure requiring AV-over-IP encoder/decoder endpoints with Dante audio integration
  • Government and enterprise facilities where a single AV-over-IP endpoint must serve both video distribution and Dante room audio DSP integration

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I specify DM-NVX-363 instead of DM-NVX-360?
Specify the NVX-363 when the facility has a Dante audio network and audio must route between DM NVX video endpoints and Dante DSPs, amplifiers, or other Dante devices. For video-only or HDMI-embedded-audio systems where Dante integration is not needed, the DM-NVX-360 is the appropriate and lower-cost choice. Contact Creation Networks.

Does the downmixing engine require Dante to be active?
The downmixing engine converts 7.1 surround to stereo and is designed for use with the Dante/AES67 audio output. Refer to the Crestron data sheet for downmix operation in non-Dante configurations. Contact Creation Networks for configuration guidance.

What is the warranty?
Crestron provides a standard 3-year limited warranty. Contact Creation Networks.
