Product Overview
The Crestron CEN-SWPOE-48-TAA is a TAA-compliant, 48-port managed PoE+ network switch designed for commercial AV-over-IP installations with government procurement requirements. It delivers up to 30 W per port across 40 Ethernet ports and provides eight 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplink ports for fiber backbone connectivity. With a 240 Gbps non-blocking switching fabric and integrated DM NVX and DM NAX AV-over-IP profiles, the CEN-SWPOE-48-TAA is purpose-built for Crestron AV-over-IP networks in environments where TAA compliance is mandatory.
Product Description
The CEN-SWPOE-48-TAA is the TAA-compliant variant of the CEN-SWPOE-48, sharing the same hardware specifications while meeting Trade Agreements Act requirements for use in federal, state, and government-funded AV projects. It delivers IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) power on 40 of its 48 Ethernet ports, with a maximum of 30 W per port and 960 W combined output. Eight 10 Gigabit Base-X SFP+ ports accept multimode or single-mode fiber transceiver modules for uplink connectivity.
For standard commercial AV deployments where PoE+ is sufficient — including DM NVX endpoints, touch panels, occupancy sensors, and network cameras drawing under 30 W — the CEN-SWPOE-48-TAA provides a cost-effective and compliance-ready managed switch solution in a 1U rackmount chassis. The 240 Gbps non-blocking switching fabric ensures full bandwidth across all ports without congestion in high-density multicast AV environments.
The browser-based management interface provides simplified DM NVX and DM NAX AV profile configuration, while full IT management is available via CLI, SSH, SNMP, RADIUS, and TACACS+. The switch includes IGMP snooping, IEEE 1588 PTPv2, VLANs, QoS, Layer 3 routing, DHCP server, 802.1X, DHCP snooping, and dynamic ARP inspection. The metal chassis is fan-cooled and ships with reversible rack ears.
Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the CEN-SWPOE-48-TAA identical to the CEN-SWPOE-48?
- Yes. The hardware specifications and feature set are the same. The TAA suffix indicates Trade Agreements Act compliance for government procurement eligibility.
- What is the maximum PoE power per port?
- This switch delivers up to 30 W per port (IEEE 802.3at PoE+). If endpoints requiring more than 30 W are in scope, consider the CEN-SWPOE-48-ULTRA which supports PoE++ at up to 90 W per port.
- Do all 48 ports provide PoE+?
- No. Forty of the 48 ports provide PoE+. The remaining eight ports are 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplinks and do not supply PoE power.
- What SFP+ transceivers are compatible?
- The SFP+ ports support 10 Gigabit Base-X modules in both multimode and single-mode fiber (e.g., SFP-10G-SR). Transceivers are sold separately.
- How does the AV profile feature work?
- Selecting the DM NVX or DM NAX profile in the switch's web interface automatically applies the multicast routing and IGMP configuration those systems require, replacing manual configuration of each setting.
- What warranty applies?
- Covered under Crestron's standard limited warranty. Full terms are available at crestron.com/warranty.
