Crestron CBL-8K-HD-3 – HDMI 2.1 Cable, 48 Gbps, 3 ft

Crestron CBL-8K-HD-3 HDMI 2.1 cable 48 Gbps 3 ft short rack patch 8K 4K120 commercial AV

Product Overview

The Crestron CBL-8K-HD-3 is a 3-foot (0.9m) Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 certified cable rated at 48 Gbps for short rack-internal, equipment-to-equipment, and display-adjacent connections requiring HDMI 2.1 bandwidth in commercial AV installations. Functionally identical to the CBL-8K-HD-12, the 3-foot length is optimized for AV rack patch connections between co-mounted HDMI 2.1 equipment, short display connections where the source is immediately adjacent to the display, and equipment that requires HDMI 2.1 48 Gbps bandwidth at short connection distances. Crestron-certified, backward compatible with all HDMI versions, and Ultra High Speed HDMI certified.

Product Description

The 3-foot format of the CBL-8K-HD-3 serves the same applications as the CBL-8K-HD-12 in environments where the connection distance between HDMI 2.1 source and display is 3 feet or less. In AV racks with HDMI 2.1-capable equipment — 8K media players, 4K120 gaming PCs, HDMI 2.1 matrix switchers — a 3-foot cable connects adjacent rack units without the cable coiling and management overhead that a 6-foot or 12-foot cable would introduce. Similarly, in display connections where the source device is located immediately adjacent to the display (a gaming PC on a desk below a 4K120 monitor, a media player in a display cabinet below an 8K commercial display), the 3-foot length eliminates excess cable without compromising signal bandwidth. The Ultra High Speed HDMI certification validates the 48 Gbps performance through independent HDMI Forum testing, distinguishing this cable from uncertified cables claiming HDMI 2.1 performance.

Key Features

  • HDMI 2.1 Ultra High Speed, 48 Gbps: Full 48 Gbps bandwidth for 8K60, 4K120, 4K60 4:4:4 HDR10+ at a 3-foot connection distance — same specification as the 12-foot CBL-8K-HD-12 in a shorter length.
  • 3-Foot Fixed Length: 3 ft (0.9m) — optimized for AV rack patch connections between co-mounted HDMI 2.1 equipment and short display-adjacent source connections where a longer cable would create unnecessary management overhead.
  • Ultra High Speed HDMI Certified: HDMI Forum certification validates 48 Gbps performance — independent testing distinguishes certified cables from uncertified cables falsely claiming HDMI 2.1 compliance.
  • eARC, VRR, ALLM Support: Supports HDMI 2.1 advanced features including Enhanced Audio Return Channel, Variable Refresh Rate, and Auto Low Latency Mode.
  • Crestron Certified: Engineered for commercial AV use in Crestron systems alongside HDMI 2.1-compatible Crestron AV equipment.
  • Backward Compatible: Fully backward compatible with HDMI 2.0, 1.4, and all earlier HDMI versions and resolutions.

Typical Applications

  • AV rack internal patch connections between co-mounted HDMI 2.1 matrix switchers, 8K media players, and HDMI 2.1 distribution equipment
  • Short display connections where the HDMI 2.1 source device is immediately adjacent to the 8K or 4K120 display
  • Broadcast monitoring and production rack connections between HDMI 2.1-capable equipment at 1–2 RU spacing
  • Command center and control room equipment connections requiring 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 bandwidth at short distances

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between CBL-8K-HD-3 and CBL-8K-HD-12?
Both are Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cables at 48 Gbps with identical specifications. The only difference is cable length: 3 ft vs. 12 ft. Specify the 3-foot version for rack patch connections and short display-adjacent source connections; the 12-foot version for longer display runs in commercial rooms. Contact Creation Networks for cable length selection guidance.

Will this cable work in existing HDMI 2.0 systems?
Yes — HDMI 2.1 cables are fully backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 and earlier. Using an HDMI 2.1 cable in an HDMI 2.0 system provides no performance difference but future-proofs the cable run if equipment is upgraded.

What is the warranty on the Crestron CBL-8K-HD-3?
Crestron provides a standard warranty on CBL-8K-HD series cables. Contact Creation Networks for warranty details.
