The Crestron CAEN-CK-7X1 is a cover extension kit that increases the internal depth of a CAEN-7X1 or CAENIB-7X1 automation enclosure by 1.5 inches (38 mm). It is used when excess wiring, third-party contactors, or other devices require more space than the standard enclosure depth allows.

Product Description

Lighting and automation installers frequently encounter situations where the standard CAEN-7X1 enclosure depth is insufficient to accommodate large wiring bundles or non-CLX third-party modules. The CAEN-CK-7X1 solves this without requiring a larger enclosure. The kit includes two horizontal pans and four vertical brackets that attach to the existing backbox, then accept the original enclosure cover using the supplied screws.

Installation requires only a #2 Phillips screwdriver. The horizontal pans mount at the top and bottom of the enclosure, the vertical brackets attach to each side, and the original CAEN cover is reinstalled using the provided hardware. The result is a sealed enclosure with 1.5 inches of additional interior depth across the full 62-inch height of the CAEN-7X1 cabinet.

Will the CAEN-CK-7X1 work with the CAEN-7X2 or other CAEN enclosure sizes?

No. The CAEN-CK-7X1 is sized for the 7-module high x 1-module wide enclosure only. For the dual-column 7x2 enclosure, use the CAEN-CK-7X2. Separate kits exist for other CAEN sizes.

Does the existing enclosure cover get replaced or reused?

Reused. The original CAEN cover is removed during installation, the extension brackets are attached, and then the same cover is reinstalled using the screws supplied with the kit. No new cover panel is required.
